Did anyone else have this moment of awakening when they started the LCHF lifestyle? I used to chew packs of sugar free gum at a time..and now I see that each piece has 2 carbs! The passion fruit iced tea I used to get from Starbucks (unsweetened without lemonade) has 12 carbs! Sugar free halls have 5 or 6g each!
What are some of the craziest carb-filled foods you've encountered when you started this?

It's Starbucks - that means the passion-fruit tea has to be laced with copious amounts of sugar to 'enhance' the taste and experience of the tea! (end rant/sarcasm)

Sausage - pick the brand. Irritating as all get out that there are so many carb fillers in most brands. You really have to search to find good sausage without a bunch of added carbs.

Cottage cheese and yogurt. Both promoted all over as a great source of protein, but they have more carbs in a serving that I sometimes get in a day. I was never a fan of cottage cheese, but I used to eat yogurt every day. In particular, I ate the Oikos Triple Zero because one of the "zeroes" was no added sugar. It still had 15 g of carbs in that little bitty container!

I love cottage cheese! I've found the full fat 4% varieties have way less carbs than the low fat or 2% ones.

yeah, but that is still more than I want with 5 g of carbs and 4 of them being sugar in just a half cup. I don't even like cottage cheese. I only ever ate it because it was supposedly healthy.

My heart fell when you said there's carbs in sugar free gum, I hadn't read the label. Thankfully mine has only 1 gram of carbs per slice, so I can have 1-2 a day without any problems. I have really dry mouth from diabetes so my breath can be a problem. Hoping that clears up the longer I'm on this WOE.
