I was reading a question someone posted at Amazon about Maju's MCT oil. The company, wanting to be fully transparent with their customers, lists 75mg of trans fats in their MCT oil. They don't, by law, have to list the amount since it is a trace amount, according to them. The seller also says that ALL MCT oil has trans fats because of how it is processed. Has anyone else read about this elsewhere?

It is chemically processed so that may be where the "trace" amount comes from.

Good article, thank you. I found out about the good trans fats when I started keto but apparently the trans fats that MCT oil has is the chemical kind. I just wasn't aware that those were found in MCT oil. Thank you for the replies. :)

I knew there was naturally occurring trans fats because I saw that the grass fed beef I bought listed 0.5 g per 4 oz serving. I just assumed naturally occurring trans fats were not going to be the same as those coming from a chemical plant. Thanks @KnitOrMiss for finding this article that gives me some back up for that assumption.

I tend to agree with Dr. Hyman's statement that if it is grown from a plant it is ok but if it is made in a plant (factory) it isn't. I extend that out to if it comes from an animal eating its natural diet, it is ok as well.
