Protein During Liquid Post Op Phase

I had my RNY on 7/16 and have yet to get in a days worth of protein. It just makes me so sick. I have tried Unjury, Isoprol, GNC, Super Advanced Whey and a myriad of others. I just can't stomach them. How bad is this? I am getting my daily water in no problem it is just the shakes that I can't handle.
Any suggestions out there?
In the past if I had to drink something that I didn't like I would just gulp it down. Can't do that now. I know this is contributing to fatigue but didn't know what other problems this could cause. I go for my post op appt on Monday and should start mushy foods then. I am so looking forward to getting the protein that way.

I was on clear broth, diluted juice and Isopure clear the first week and probably only got about 30 grams of protein in if I was lucky. My guidelines for 60+ grams a day didn't start until the 4th week when I got into the "regular" diet. I know each doctor is different, but I don't see any way anyone can get in that high amount of protein at first. I think the Isopure clear or Unjury chicken broth was probably the best way to get some in in the first couple of weeks, though. I also know that there is a high protein jello that my dietitian gets around here (SE Texas, Houston area.) There are options to bring that up w/o doing the protein shakes.0

Most shake recipes call for a cup of liquid to a scoop. This makes for a very thick product. Thin it way down. Should go down easier. Unjury has recipe for protein poscles and protein jello I'm web site. Others have used sugar free jello to broghtenflavors of protein powder.

I have found the Unjury unflavored to be a big help. I add to coffee, vitamin water or tea, and as stated before their website has recipes to add to jello and pudding. Just be very careful and follow the temperature guidelines so it does not curdle. I also add chocolate powder if I have oatmeal or cream of wheat. I add vanilla to my orange vitamin water to get a creamsicle type flavor.0

I use EAS AdvantEdge pre-made protein shakes. I prefer Vanilla ( I can get a case at BJ's) or strawberry (available in 4 packs at local stores). After my second surgery, I had a hard time getting them down, my nurse recommended mixing them with ice in the blender or just pouring them over ice. Which helped.0

Hands down, the BEST protein shakes I've had are Syntrax Matrix mint cookie shakes, powder found on their website. Tastes like you took a whole box of Thin Mint cookies, dunked them in milk and then drank the milk, crumbs and all!
Do your best to get your protein in. Many times with the shakes, it's mind over matter, and you need the protein to heal.0 -
Oh, Lord, I am going to have to look for the Syntrax Matrix mint cookie shakes, simply because I have a complete weakness for thin mint cookies! Thanks for sharing this!0
