Hi, I'm looking for advice on getting fit enough to do a race for life event for cancer research in September. I am a regular weight lifter, I train 6 days a week, so I'm not completely unfit, but lifting isn't the same as running. I will be doing a 5k run with obstacle course... Any advice on how to train for this would be great! Thank you.

You shouldn't have any problems with the obstacles. How long can you run now? If it's a 5k obstacle course, you won't be running very long in between obstacles anyway.

Download a Couch to 5k app and start running 3 days a week. Most C25K programs are 8 - 9 weeks and will have you running 30 minutes straight when you finish.

    Have fun!
