I did much better last week. It was a recovery week after a really stressful few, and I started refocusing on the things I need to do to eat better (I still suck at not stress eating, so need to have a plan for next time). Only really bad day was Friday (when someone who shares office space with us provided a lunch (Italian) that was endless pizza bread and pasta and eggplant parm and cannoli). I've been planning to cut my carbs this week, so unfortunately saw it as a bit of "might as well go wild." It wasn't quite that bad, but I am glad I otherwise had some extra calories saved up in the week.

I did lower my carbs/change my macros starting yesterday and so far, so good. Plan is to stick to that and calories, get in my workouts, focus on getting good sleep (which was not so good last night).

Gotta work on sleep too...a missing factor i haven't improved on. Sorry about duplicate week6 posting...we were doing it at same time!
Long training week...two weeks before my first tri in wetsuit and the atlantic! Butterflies! And twenty pounds heavier...but head down...one stroke, one pedal and one step at a time...

I'm up 3 pounds! Not surprising with two weekends out of town and a whole week in MN for training. Restaurants every night. I'm back to class next week, so this week I'm just trying to reestablish my good habits, water, sleep exercise.

I should have waited for you to post one. Was just excited I'd remembered to check in!

Exciting about the tri. I think I'm just going to stick to running this year (and some swimming and biking for fun), but you never know!

I was going to do a marathon next weekend, but for various reasons am not adequately trained and so was going to drop down to the half (waste of money since I paid for the more expensive full), but just realized I could postpone a year (nice of them to have that option), so I'm going to plan on 2018, and go run on a trail around here instead. New marathon target is early July-ish, not sure what marathon yet, but there's one in VT that looks good (hilly, but okay tradeoff for probably decent running weather).

Not sure how you survived all those restaurants! Hoping you regain your healthy habits....

My sister bought me a new fit bit as mine died and now it's time to get my rear in gear. I am slowly and I mean slowly dropping my stress poundage but I still have 6 lbs to go and it's been a rough few weeks. 19 days ago grandma (93) broke her femur and then needed a pace maker. still in the hospital. this week mom went in for chest pains and is going on to see a specialist for a narrowing carotid artery. I somehow passed my physical and blood work I don't know how.

    Goals OY
    exercise for the stress
    don't buy any candy
    log everything

So excellent week for me. Got in almost all my planned workouts (swimming continues to elude me, but hopefully will turn that around today), but most of all ate well, within my calories, and logged. Sleep was up and down -- going to work on that more this week.

Cutting carbs way back seems to have helped -- not sure how much is physical and how much is having a mental project that interests me again (seeing this as an experiment vs. just eating less). Anyway, plan to repeat this over the next week.
