Magnesium Timing

I got some Doctor's Best magnesium as it seemed to be a popular one around high. It's says to take 2, twice a day. Do I need to work up to that? Also, what is the best timing? Just approximately 12 hours apart? Or does it matter when it's taken in relation to food consumption? Can I take it with other things such as turmeric, Motrin, birth control, or Thermotabs?

I would probably start with 1 at night a day or two, then one at night, one during day (yes, it has a 12 hour half-life) for a couple days, then 1 am, 2 pm for a couple days, then 2 am, 2 pm.
Some people get tired with it and can't take it in the AM or need a different AM formula, so watch for that. I find that the chelated mag glycinate works well for me, both AM and PM... I personally don't notice any major difference taking it with or without food. I generally pair it with breakfast and dinner for ease of timing.
I don't know anything you shouldn't take with it. Google says don't take it with antibiotics, bone density meds, calcium channel blockers (high blood pressure meds of this specific type), muscle relaxers, or water pills... So looks like it shouldn't interfere with the rest.0 -
I also got the Doctor's Best mag. I take 1 in the morning with fish oil, potassium, CoQ10, and turmeric. I also take a second one before bed, seems to help with sleeping deeper and seems to keep things moving along better as well, a difference for the good with this brand, I had the Nature Made one that was next to the last in the review. Glad I changed. I will not be taking 2, 2x a day, that is just too much, they want you do that to sell more product, IMHO.0

I believe your body can only absorb magnesium at a certain rate. It's common advice that your daily dose should be spread throughout the day.0
