Sauna Stories...

So, I have recently been utilizing the sauna in my gym. I do between 15 to 20 minutes in 155-170 degrees. It is AWESOME! I think I'm going to recommend this as part of the plan from now on. Although I never did it when I lost weight, I find it mentally and physically refreshing and there seems to be no downside. Plus, the benefits of circulation, soreness mitigation, and toxin removal are beyond cool!

The cool thing: 20 minutes in a sauna at about 165 degrees burns somewhere close to 45 calories (or more, depending on your size). This means that if you walk on a treadmill and burn, say, 200 calories, all you have to do is finish off with a 20-minute episode in the sauna and you've pulled 245 calories off of you.

The sauna is also a great place to meditate and everybody else with you is silent and either listening to their ipods or using some headspace app and enjoying the reflection. It's truly a great experience!

If you don't have access to a sauna, try your hot car on a hot day! Just time yourself and try not to pass the 25-minute mark in hot, enclosed areas. And hydrate well (of course).

Was this one of those infra-red saunas I've been hearing about? I've been wanting to try that.

I love saunas, my gym has a dry one which pales in comparison to a wet sauna.

I have a home infrared sauna haven´t used it lately now that summer is here big time... but its worth doing it... it relaxes you and removes not only toxins but stress!... remember that once out of the sauna the pores of your skin are wide open so if you are going to shower, choose non toxic creams or else they are back into your body!
