So it started pouring rain on me during my C25k run...

...and it was actually very refreshing!

I usually hate to get rained on because I have the type of hair that curls wildly when it gets wet..however that's not a big concern i I'm running because it's going to get wet and gross any way. Besides all the motorists slowing and staring at me, it was great. I was concerned my new shoes may be slick on the wet road, but they did fine. I was a little worried about my headphones/my Galaxy S4 getting wet because the phone was partially exposed at the top because it's too big for my armband, but everything was fine.

Plus, this is the first day that my feet haven't KILLED after my run since I've been transitioning into my "barefoot" shoes(Merrell Pace Glove 2). I actually feel pretty good right now. I'm on Week 3, day 2, btw.

I did C25k almost to the end about a year and a half ago but got sidetracked and quit. I'm happy to find that it seems a little easier this go through though, despite the amount of time that has passed. =D

    Congrats on restarting. :)

It's always best AFTER the rain has started, or I'm now drenched in sweat...then my cares go away and I just have fun.

This is why I love running in the rain. Also, I feel badass. Stop and stare, fools!

Great job on starting again. My understanding that returning to running after graduation will never be as hard again.

I've been running in the early morning because it gets so nasty humid here and it rained the other morning while I was out. It was absolutely lovely. I run on bike paths around our area so parts are very wooded, which kept me from getting drenched until the final leg home. The only thing I don't like about the rain is that I wear glasses so if I'm not careful I end up not being able to see (I wear a hat).

BTW, I switched to Pace Gloves around week 3, too, from some New Balance traditional shoes, and at first, I just took it very easy. I have a knee that acts up sometimes so that's what got me interested in the minimalist shoes. The first few runs, my shins hurt something terrible when I was walking, but felt ok when running. Now, I really love my shoes. They're so very comfortable and I love not having to find socks in the morning -- I just slip on my shoes and I'm out the door. The Dash Gloves are designed for streets and since I run on paved trails, I'm planning to "upgrade" to those at some point.
