I've been on Metformin for 12 years now. I was no longer able to control my sugars unless I was very strict with my diet. For us Type 2, it is all about treating the insulin resistance. I was really good for a year with diet and exercise and now I am on Januvia and Glipizide (along with Metformin). It is a daily choice to carb count and keep it below 2 carb choices per meal - that is what works for me. I hope you can find what tweeps will work for you! Hang in there!

I was pre-diabetic, then I was not. Now the doctor says my numbers are back up a bit, but is hesitant to declare me diabetic or put me on any medication.

At the moment I'm doing testing on alternate days around different meal times. Taking that report back to the doctor after 4 months for further assessment.
