    When breastfeeding you will be more hungry. Your body needs more calories than if you weren't feeding a little one. Eat if you are hungry. You are doing your milk supply no favors if you excessively calorie restrict. Your body also can be come dehydrated more easily regardless of what diet you follow while breastfeeding. Be sure you're getting enough salt and water.

    There is no reason you can't be low carb while breastfeeding. Any breastfeeding mother needs to pay attention to supply and your own hunger cues and be sure you're eating enough. If your supply decreases, or baby doesn't gain weight start with eating more.
