These are three meds my doc is considering since I can't do metformin anymore. Anyone have experience with these? Thoughts?

I've tried Januvia helped a little with BG numbers but made me hungry all the time. Actos made me gain weight. Invokana have me the most horrendous yeast infections. Byetta helped all my aunts and my mom when they took it and they all lost weight but it loses it effectiveness to control BG rather quickly and them they had to be put on something else.2

Byetta was found in gila monster spit.
Years ago I used it, my Endo switched me over to Victoza
1 shot a day & doesn't need to be kept cool after you open it.
Like insulin very pricey.

Eek. That is one creepy looking reptile.0

How weird. Re: spit.
Well they are all too expensive out of pocket. I'm this close to just being noncompliant with them all.0 -
Couldn't you just breed and consort with gila monsters? Seems like it might be cheaper....... but maybe they only salivate if there are truffles around.0

Read up on Berberine. It sounds better to me but I have not tried Metformin.0 -

Byetta...did not really work. Side effects include Pancreatitis. Been there, done that. Huge black and blue marks. Januvia, my husband used...did not work to any great extent. All this kitten stuff is EXPENSIVE!!
The only thing that worked to control glucose for us was LCHF, less than 20 carbs per day.3 -
Kitten? I'm so confused by this thread!0

"Kitten" is big brother protecting our eyes & mind from damage.
I waste more time trying to figure out which "Kitten" fits best.

Yeah. Mommy and Daddy MFP censor those naughty bad words by replacing them with "*kitten*" now.0 -
I like *kittens*.
Like @KenSmith108 says, sort of, they unlock the door to the fetid basement that is our imagination.0 -
