Lo Carbing

I've been spinning my wheels on EMTWL since Feb. Have seen zero weight loss, minor measurement changes. Been fluctuating between 229 and 234lbs.Never less, sometimes more depending on sodium intake. It's all water fluctuation.

There was a discussion about diet on a weighlifting forum I belong to. One of the guys recommended cutting back on the carbs, 50g a day for 2 weeks, then 100g a day for 2 more weeks, and then gradually increasing to see when you start to put weight back on, and then use that as your daily goal. I figured, why not give it a shot, nothing else is working.

3 days and I'm already 4lbs lighter than what I weighed in at on Monday. Normally by this time during the week I might be a pound lighter than I was over the weekend, and sometimes I'd be heavier. I know it's water and glycogen stores that I'm getting rid of, but if I can jump start and get 10lbs or more off of me, and be able to maintain that weight the way I seem to only be maintaining now, it'll be a small victory.

I looked back at my logs and I'm anywhere from 150 to 250g of carbs per day.

The hardest part is getting enough calories without carbs. The 1st 2 days I was way off. Yesterday I came close to my daily calorie goal. Lots of meat, eggs, nuts, and salad. I like all that food so that part won't be bad. Giving up my beer on the weekend- that's another challenge!

Anyone else doing lower carbs on EMTWL?
