There is definitely a Psychosomatic comfort of food/alcohol, at least there is for me. Just opening a bottle of wine and pouring a glass (not even drinking it yet) can calm me down, after a stressful day. So tonight, in an attempt to have the same effect, I'm totally drinking my ice water out of a fancy glass! Lol

Great idea! I agree that part of the comfort comes from the rituals.

It's a proven fact that food 'tastes' different, according to the cutlery and crockery used, and that a good, well-prepared cup of tea is so much more enjoyable when taken from a bone-china cup.... So yes, certainly psychosomatically, you can alter your perception of what you are taking in....

Very clever! You are rewarding yourself but not with food... like we do our pets. ;) Smart!

I didn't have any alcohol or diet soda this weekend and I'm down 2 pounds from Friday. Yup. That's the ticket. Break out the fancy glasses!
