Weekly mini goals really work! They allow us to adjust focus in the short-term while still aiming toward a broader long-term target. Setting small goals also provides opportunity to challenge ourselves and (maybe) create new habits.

A weekly mini goal can be scale or non-scale related. Done right, smaller incremental goals let us enjoy an accomplishment here and there along the way, but, ideally, are never set so high that they cause undue stress if we fall short.

If you want to join in this challenge, just jump in!

What is your weekly mini goal this week?

How did you do with last week's mini goal?

Memorial Day weekend right around the bend!?! Hard to believe.

Last week: my goal was to "make a better choice" at least once each day. I'll keep a record either here or in the MTBC thread. (I'm traveling and doing touristy things in NYC Thurs to Sun, so this should be a good and achievable goal).

Other than the recording "here" part, I achieved this goal. I recorded instead in the memo app on my phone as I was traveling and not always connected. This was a great goal as it led me to some extra activity and better food choices while still enjoying the ever-living-whatever out of 3+ days in NYC!

This week: record activity 7 days. Minimally, this will mean completing my home exercises for the PT I'm doing on my hip.

My goal was to have 5 days of of being +/- 150 cals of my goal and average my goal. Fail, but in retrospect it wasn't my best goal.

This week I would like to average within 150 of my goal and average over 600 cardio cals per day. I just missed on the first one and nailed the second this past week in what felt like a good week. This week I am focusing on walking each day (already doing) and swimming or cycling as well to up.

Last week vary my food choices with some different choices. Try some new items for variety sake. Get out of my rut'

Success! Tried some marinade for my chicken breast. Fresh strawberries and plain Greek yogurt too.

This week: I'm signed up for kayaking lesson, it's been on my Bucket List last two years. Now at 212# I feel I can fit into one! Saturday I take the plunge!

Last week, I had a 3 day family event going on this past weekend, and I knew I'd be looking to maintain, and not lose. With that in mind, my goal was to track everything I ate, and to be very aware and respectful of hunger and satiation feelings.

I almost accomplished my goal - tracking and being aware and respectful of hunger and satiation except for the last day of the week.

This week I'm keeping the same goal, but I'm intending to lose weight, not maintain.
