LCHF VS Low Cal

I'm not low fat. I'll never be low fat. IMO that's low taste.

I almost bought these bagels today on Amazon. Then I saw the description. With this kind of "informative" description, I know exactly what they are gonna taste like. ;)

oh I've seen ads for those, never tried them. I've gotten the bagels from great low carb bread company and those are pretty decent

I might try them. I'm trying a new food every few weeks for the fun of it. My order for Quest sour cream and onion chips should be in any day now.

Whoa! 9$ for shipping?! I don't think so. Too bad they aren't eligible for free shipping. :/

I'm kind of afraid of what they're made of...

Seems to gimmicky marketing for me. Plus I bet the ingredients are probably not whole food, probably packed with unknown commercially made ingredients. To top it off I am always skeptical of the "Net Carb" claims.

I'm guessing they are just cut really thin, and that's part of it.

I'm inherently skeptical of anything that would be basically carb-based that's supposed to be low carb, though -- I'd rather just skip or rarely have pasta, bread, whatever, than low carb bread. I suspect it would have lots of added indisgestible stuff to bulk it out and wouldn't taste good, as OP said.

Pretty much that's been my experience, too. Except.

Maybe my tastes are changing but there are some gems I find that are low carb but that I actually like.

Tortillas for example. I've tried the ...cream cheese pancakes, ....thin omelets, ....messy lettuce and then settled on the Carb Balance white tortillas (3 net carbs). They tasted funky, they had a weird sweet taste, and sometimes they upset my tummy.

Then I found these whole wheat tortillas (one day when our store was out of white). These are delicious!! I actually LIKE them. Same carbs, but no weird sweet taste or tummy upset. Quesadillas are awesome. Soft tacos? Yes plz. So for every 99 bad low carb sub products I'm still always looking for that 1 product that works for me.
