For me, it was by accident. I was working overnights, going to school full time days and raising 3 kids on my own. I only ever had time for one meal a day. Yet, I found I was energized enough to do what needed doing and I wasn't hungry. Plus the bonus, I lost a lot of weight. I went back to eating 3 meals and watched my weight climb and climb. Last November stress took hold and I could barely manage a few bites of anything, but ate dinner in order to not let my man know I wasn't eating. I lost tons of weight and just kept it up. It works and it's been great.

I had done IF of various forms successfully in the past - I'm never quite sure how/why I got away from it, but I think it was mostly mental. I just wasn't committed to it in the same way I am now. Somewhere about a month ago I stumbled across this group and realized "WOW! When i did IF this was basically what I did!". For whatever reason, a fire was lit and I have been doing it since then. Some people look at me like I'm a little cuckoo - either because they think they know better OR because they, themselves would not want to do it/it isn't for them...totally fine by me! I AM a little cuckoo (and I'm totally fine w that LOL) but the eating pattern isn't the crazy part ;)

Lots of health issues (lots of gout, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, waking up with headaches [probably due to high blood pressure], feeling lousy, looking lousy, and thinking I will die a lot sooner if I don't do something. Thought about fasting myself and starting reading if anyone had done it and found Joe's story and some others and decided to give it a go!
