Okay I have been on this woe since April 17th. I have started IF 16:8 a couple of weeks ago. This morning I woke up and decided I should try a longer fast,(water, coffee, green tea) I have kinda been in a plateau for a few weeks. I want to see if this will jump start weight loss again. I have been working out, thinking of just doing maybe an hour 3.5mph walk after work? It's kinda scary I have never not been hungry and never have gone longer than 24hours with out food. Any advice would be appreciated.

Make sure you get sodium throughout the day and if you start to feel bad or weak in any way, go ahead and break the fast. I think it's also. Good idea to eat something small at first and then eat again after a half hour or so.

If you lost a great deal of weight in the beginning, no amount of fasting will "jump start" weight loss again at this stage of the game. I'm saying that from the perspective that MFP indicates your "membership" began April 30th. If that is 4/30 of this year you've really not been dieting long enough to reach a real "plateau". A month? Your body is just in an adjustment phase to the initial big weight loss if that occurred.

Just my opinion but I would keep the carbs low and experiment and see what helps you from feeling hungry since you're never "not hungry". Could be protein, could be fat. Could it be that you're just "head hungry"?

Perhaps you have too severe a deficit and there is reason to be hungry? I think many don't realize (or fully accept) that when one enters stats in MFP, unless they enter the goal of maintain or gain, the # of calories given to eat are already reflective of a deficit and in most cases there is not a need to reduce them even further. At least not initially.

But if you really have a burning urge to fast, do what sunnybunny suggested. Fasting has a plethora of benefits for medical issues. Weight loss, not so much. Good luck though. Weight loss is a great benefit to those who are overweight. It takes time, adherence and patience.

I can give you my experience a couple of months ago I went on a 72 hour fast (before I was on MFP). It actually wasn't hard for me with resolve and lots of water about 2 gallons a day (some of it with lemon and salt). I lost 6 pounds but gained 2 back the next day with added undigested food and stool back in my system.
Day one was hard but every time I was hungry I would drink. Day two was easier and I felt good but by the end of the day I had bad diarrhea. Day three my head was clear and I felt great but the diarrhea was still very bad. I might have continued fasting if my daughter hadn't invited me to dinner (I rarely see her since she moved out).
What I learned: I learned the difference between hunger and my stomach hurting. The difference between feeling like eating and needing to eat. That if I'm bored I will decide I'm hungry.
And one last thing my stomach could not hold as much after I was done with the fast.

I did not do the fast for a plateau in weight loss. I did it right before going on keto in hopes it would make me feel better and get healthier. I think it did but I also know it doesn't do that for everyone (both my husband and eldest son have done a 48 hour fast after they saw how I felt after my fast)
