    Hello everyone! I'm back!

My 2 weeks in Italy were AMAZING! I ate and drank a lot but also walked miles every day (including on Mount Etna which was incredible!) and coming back to work this week I can actually feel I am less out of breath climbing the stairs to the office. I gained 4lb in the 2 weeks according to my first weigh in but I think a lot of that is water weight, particularly as I had foot swelling on the flight home. So I'm expecting a big drop this week - in fact if I'd remembered about the monthly challenge and weighed in yesterday, I reckon the number would already be a few pounds less.

And that is why I've set an ambitious target for the month! I like to aim high otherwise I lose focus, but at the end of the day I'm happy with any loss

So far I have a 3 point plan for getting/keeping on track with everything that's been going on. Phases 1 and 2 are down (B12 shot for some energy, appt with obesity/bariatric counselor to make sure I have coping mechanisms for not eating my feelings), and Phase 3 (appointment with registered dietition/nutritionist) is next week. I'm hoping my goal is feasible but eventually I'll be learning to maintain, I hope. Good luck everyone!

Well I guess I was right about the water weight! This is a hell of a drop for me, think it might be the biggest I've ever seen.

But even so, this puts me 3lb below my pre-holiday weight so is a massive victory.

It has smashed me through the 30lb total loss barrier - I've never lost this much in my life.

Another 4lb gets me to 10% loss from my heaviest, which doctors say is a really big deal for your health.

This will be a tough week for weight loss. II have 2 nights out in a row (more than I had in the whole of last year haha!) which will involve food and lots of drink. Hopefully I can dance away some of the calories and be good the rest of the week. If I can get through this week on maintenance I will be very satisfied.

In other news, I may actually quit my job this week. It's only the bills to pay that has stopped me so far and I don't think that's a compelling enough reason any more. Nothing is worth this much stress and BS.

Hey guys i'm back! I've been sick the past week and half with a nasty bug and I was allergic to the first two antibiotics they doctors gave me. But I'm back now and i'm as motivated as ever. :D I decided to start trying to exercise some in the morning. That way I would have a break and recoup in time for my afternoon workout. I am not a morning person. I do not function before 9am really. This morning I woke up with hubby around 6am. I didn't think I was awake enough to stay on the elliptical so I decided to fold warm towels that we had washed the night before. After all I got the first step done and that was waking up. Most of yall probably know where this is going. I folded the WARM towels then proceeded to snuggle into them and fall asleep. I couldn't resist but I am feeling unusually energetic this morning. I guess the secret is in the towels. :P

Hello everyone, I am back at the weight loss game again and thought that I would try a group for some support. I am doing a low diet. Right now I am focusing on my dietary intake before trying to incorporate an exercise routine. I still do leisurely walks in the evening so I am getting some activity but I know myself and if I try to get the eating and exercise going at the same time, I tend to flop. I wish all of us great luck, I know that we can do it!

Not the way I wanted to start the month. Run streak still going at 159 days, with 344 miles/553 km logged for the year, but I need to get my mileage back up; it's been dropping off since March. Sleeping better this month, but CICO tracking hasn't been as good and I've been snacking more.

I really need to get everything moving in the same direction again.

I was going to avoid this for a day, as I had dropped down and then bounced back to where I was, but it's Friday so I'm sucking it up. Need to be better about CICO tracking. At least I'm moving more again. Welcome to the new people!

I did good all week, but I'm super high strung today, so going to focus on not comforting myself with food. Proud of myself for fighting through a month long plateau. Getting under 200 is very much a mind game!

Late posting here but I did weigh on time. I'd hoped to maintain but instead have a small gain. Not letting it get to me. A very difficult week including being on 2 lots of antibiotics and in a lot of pain. It's a victory enough that I'm still here.

Also my dental problem is making it very hard to stick to target. I'm having to eat what I can, when I can. Yesterday was my 3rd visit to the dentist in 14 days. Pretty miserable.

Let's see what this week brings! I've applied for soooooo many jobs I can't even keep track anymore. Surely something has to come good!

Meh sort of week. Run streak at 165 days, with 365 miles/587 km logged for the year, and my mileage should be over 20 for this week due to my starting half-marathon training. CICO was good during the week and nearly non-existent over the weekend, but the snacking is back under control. Sleep has been so-so. Lifting...yeah, lifting.

Of course the scale bounced down the day after my last weigh-in, and then in a very pleasant surprise, it kept doing so. I think I'm getting back into my groove after a stressful May. My next appointment with the weight loss doc is just under a month away. I'm wondering if it would be possible/feasible to get to a "normal" BMI, which would bump my goal down another 12 lbs below the plan. We'll see.

Gains 2 weeks in a row. Not good.

Truth is I'm really struggling. Not just with weight loss. I wanted this year to be the year I changed a lot of things, including my weight/health. I started well, for maybe 2-3 months, but then have slid back to old (bad) ways and can't seem to get going again. I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel and it all feels a bit pointless. That and all the battles I am constantly fighting, and fighting alone at that. There's just no respite.

I had hoped my holiday last month would help, and yes at the time it was wonderful and relaxing and I walked loads and felt fitter. But then I came back to reality, and although I had excellent intentions I haven't managed to do anything right. I'm too stressed and exhausted from my job, never mind throwing in the toothache and all the personal problems.

I'm not sure what to do. Maybe I need to focus on other things than weight loss for now.....like job hunting and getting other areas of my life in order. But maybe that's all pointless if I can't improve my weight/health.

I just don't know. I'm too exhausted and stressed to do much of anything or to make any decisions.

This has been a crazy month with regard to weight loss; my weight has ranged up and down from 289 to 295.6! Still streaking at 172 days, with 381 miles/614 km of running logged for the year. However, I've been inconsistent with CICO/food logging and sleep has been off. Like I said before, I really need to get my discipline back and get everything moving in the same direction again.

I got pumped full of fluids on the 17th so for my mental health I skipped the scale and weigh-in this week. It was still up a few pounds this morning but I'm doing my best and will weigh in Friday as scheduled. I'm thinking of all of you as we struggle, and hoping for the healthiest babies possible. [Speaking of which, no check-in last week from Malia....Has the tiny human arrived?]

Bizarre. Going to do my best to reach this goal, but dropping 4.4 pounds in 2 days is an unrealistic expectation and most likely unhealthy. I'm not a high-school wrestler trying to make weight before a meet anymore LOL! Anyway, best not to worry too much about it and just keep momentum going for July. Streak still going at 179 days of running, with 402 miles/648 km logged for the year. Finished up week 2 of half-marathon training with a 7 mile run this past Sunday. CICO and sleep were decent this week. Lifting...yeah, lifting...

This was a welcome surprise after a stressful May, but getting back to my routine has definitely helped. My next appointment with the weight loss doc is on 7/11. I'm wondering if it would be possible/feasible to get to a "normal" BMI, which would bump my goal down another 12 lbs below the plan. We'll see. Either way, I am thrilled and proud. It's been a long 4-5 years of struggles and ups and downs. I'm looking forward to seeing how my bloodwork looks. WAY TO GO on your 7 mile run Mike, CONGRATULATIONS on hitting "onederland," Kari, I hope the Jens are doing well, and here's also hoping we get a tiny human update from Malia soon, although I totally understand that once they're here, tiny humans take a lot of our time and energy, and the time FLIES. My baby will be 2 a week from Saturday. It's gone by so fast.
