Food look up is whacked

I've been looking up foods, and generally google the source of the brand and then compare it to what's been inputted in food look up, the amounts for fat, protien, and calories vary greatly. Is there a way to input my own? I have been looking and I can't seem to find a way. Even if I try and imput my own recipe it goes off someone elses. I'd rather do my research and input my own values under my meals or my foods.

Anytime I search and can't find something I need I get an option on the screen to add a food to the database...sometimes it tries to tell me something is a duplicate, but you can still refuse it and enter your own values.1

I'm not seeing an option to refuse.0

I get a big green button at the bottom of the page that says "Nope, This is Not A Duplicate" and if I click on that it lets me enter my data.1

On the desk top (website not app) you can click on nutritional info (rather than add to diary) when you have an item open. You will be asked if it is correct. Click "no". You have the option to "edit" to correct to your liking.
From there, I have added it to my diary, saved as a meal (though it is a single item). It takes time because you have to save it as a meal when it is the only item under... as example, breakfast, or you save every thing thst is already listed under breakfast as the meal. I usually just use the feature where i can move the single item to lunch (for example) because i've not yet anything for lunch and then save as a meal. I hope that makes some sort sense.
Honestly I sat at the computer for a couple hours a couple days thinking of things eat regularly, found correct entries or edited them to correct and saved then under "my meals".
Something tells me that when you edit things you can also save them under "my foods" also but it has been a long time since i played with that feature.
I build my food diary from "my meals" now just changing the amount. Most things I saved by the ounce. I named them in a fashion that makes sense to me for ease in finding (under my meals) because they appear alphabetically. Example:
Almonds, slivered by ounce
Avocado by ounce
Avocado oil by Tbsp
Beef, chuck roast by ounce
Beef, ground 80/20 by ounce
Beef, ribeye by ounce
etc.

It's pretty easy to add foods and recipes on the app. I make my own "brand" consisting of my initials-- ABCs Own-- so it's easy to find on search.1
