I love how the fat is melting off my body doing Atkins.. but i feel weird a lot and I'm getting concerned about getting the nutrients I need. I don't know if it is bouts of atkins/keto flu..or that I need more food.
What low carb brand of supplements have you had success with? I just ordered Core off of Amazon ...but would appreciate the knowledge of someone who is taking a low carb supplements and have they helped you feel more normal.

The only supplement I've taken regularly is 100 mg of magnesium glycinate for night leg and foot cramps. Perhaps if you define " feel weird" someone could offer suggestions.0

For one.. I've had a chest congestion this week. Very unlike me to have that. I couldn't help but wonder if I was worn down and needed more nutrients then I've been getting dong Atkins induction for weeks now. As for feeling weird. .it is that lack of energy tired feeling. it isn't all the time..but enough to where I'm bothered by it. Very much the Atkins flu i think.. I always go eat a pickle or something salty and it goes away.
I have also experienced the up side of this diet too.... the huge energy rush too. I just want balance and consistency in how I feel. So, in reading Atkins book he says we should be taking a multi vitamin to make sure we get what we need. Yet many supplements have hidden carbs. So..didn't know if any of you used them and had great results.

Your salt intake is low. You are describing classic symptoms of "Keto Flu" due to electrolyte imbalance. Eat pickles or olives. Drink pickle juice. Salt your food as heavily as you can stand it. Dissolve a bouillon cube in the appropriate amount of water and drink 2 cubes daily. You will find you feel better within 20-30 minutes of consuming salt. Easiest way to consistently give your body enough salt is the bouillon cube method.2

I'd agree with this, definitely try the above, and if you're *truly* doing atkins, you're probably eating more greens than most Americans, and not lacking in most nutrients. I know he said to take vitamins (whatever he called them). If you're not eating your foundational vegetables, do that.
ETA: many folks eat a much more nutritious diet when switching to Atkins. Thus my comment.0
