@conchita962 I broke the sugar addiction (and for me is was an addiction) I went cold turkey lol after not touching for months I thought a wee square would be OK ... and it was because .. it was sickly sweet and 1 square was more than enough ... now when I have chocolate (about once a month) its a teeny bit and I'm happy with it.

Hi, I'm Jodi from Ohio. I have a lifetime weight problem but I lost 60 pounds and had been in the middle of a healthy BMI for 6 years . Then last year I got involved in the MPF amazing race challenges and dropped another 10 through the fun of the challenges. - about 70 pounds total. I am an all or nothing kind of person. When I am good I am very very good, When I 'm bad I'm awful! This is year seven at a healthy weight but since February I put that Amazing Race 10 back on. What I like about this UAC is deciding the target calories each day. I have never done that. I have the same calorie goal and then if I go over I feel like I blew it and can go off and keep eating. Hopefully this challenge will get me thinking a little differently. A slow weight loss is OK as long as I keep eating "rationally"
I'm married 29 years with two daughters 20 and 23 and a black lab (Maggie, my screen name) 60 years old -- Still can't believe I crossed that line! I sit behind a desk most days. When the weather is good I walk at lunch. I enjoying skiing, cycling, and gardening. I have a library of fitness DVDs, ---some really old favorites and I do Zumba in the privacy of my house.7 -

Need to revise my July goals as hit my goal weight today, yay!!! New weight goal is to try and stay in my goal range and start figuring out what my maintenance calories need to be.7 -
Hi, everyone!
My name is Kelsea. I am 25 years old and from northern Minnesota. UAC has been a huge part of my health success for the passed 8 months. I have only been in the winner's circle twice, but have lost 25+ lbs, several inches, and met many fitness goals that I had only ever dreamed of thanks to the support and inspiration that this group has provided. If you stick with it, you will see progress.
My goals this month are to lose at least 2.5 lbs (low goal, but my weight loss is slowing, and I'm increasing strength training), increase cardio (my goal for months now haha), and to increase my core strength.
This is a challenging month for me. The Fourth of July weekend is usually a rough one, but I'm confident that you guys will get me through it. I have a few camping trips planned, which can be difficult to track as well. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I'm running a 5-mile race on the 13th, and competing in the Tough Mudder marathon (10 miles; 20+ obstacles) on the 16th. The Tough Mudder was my inspiration to begin strength training a little over a year ago, and I've stuck with it since. Last year, I did the half marathon, so I'm very excited to see how I do later this month.
Good luck to you all! Feel free to add me as a friend!!8 -
@Slimpossible007 YAY for you! I know how hard it is and have battled for a long time. I'm much better than I used to be but I still need some work. Going to do a Whole30 starting July 1st (no sugar, grains, etc).2

Hey all, I'm Mark, 39 years old, from The Hague, The Netherlands.
Joining July's challenge again. Finding a new balance after my daughter was born two months ago. Did pretty well last month, looking to complete the challenge this month!
My goals:- Log daily
- Stay under my calorie allowance (with workout calories subtracted)
- Work out 6 days a week
- Drop 2kgs over the entire month to finally get ready for a clean bulk after summer - need to get my food intake on point to make this happen. Have been putting much more effort into working out than into my diet...
Good luck with your goals!4 -
I want to join but will be going on a two week vacation during the second half of July. Although I can still mostly follow the rules (perhaps I won't be able to accurately weigh everything I eat or myself) I wouldn't be able to post updates, as I am unable to use the forum on my phone (the app doesn't allow it, as I'm not in the US/other English speaking country).
So my question is this; will it continue in August???1 -
@nyponbell We'll be here in August! It will just be a different community group, so at the end of July search for The Ultimate Accountability Challenge August, and you should find it. If you continue this month and next, even though you can't log everyday, the new group is always posted on a discussion towards the end of the month.3

Well I'm not very active besides my walks on my breaks. So the weekends usually are bad. I started my journey in April 26th 2017 and for the month of May I tracked my food and exercised. Got wonderful results then in june.... I got comfortable with where I was now. But still have 22lbs to go, I think this is exactly what I need!!! My starting weight with this challenge is 165.4
Goals
Weight: 159
Exercise at least 4 days a week intense and the other 3 lighter
Calories keep on tracking but plan better so I'm not hungry or risk going over because I would love the winners circle.
Also I'm on my app and was wondering which on I should add to my favorites so I don't have to search for the challenge?3 -

After finishing June I'm making some changes to my aims
My aims for July
-- to lose 4 lbs (slow and steady)
-- to lose 3 inches across the 5 measurements I take
-- to walk 70 miles
-- to get my exercise bike out of the shed and start using it.
-- to be in the winners circle
-- to motivate others in their goals
-- to eat no lower than 1500 and no higher than 2000 in a day
I noticed last month my avg net cals were too low to maintain being healthy (and healthy is the point)

Hi all, I'm Erin from CO. I'm excited for this challenge!
--to lose 4 lbs
--to log every day
--to be honest about what I log (including added sugar and salad dressing)
--to work out 3x per week
--to go on a hike at least 1x per week
It would be awesome to stay within my calorie goal but right now the focus is to figure out where the calories are coming from.5 -
Hi Y'all! I'm Clarice from Southern California. I have a 2 and 1/2 year old golden retriever (Tara) who is spoiled rotten by my husband and me. I'm 58 years old and have been on a weight roller coaster all my life. At only 4'10", every little pound counts! In the last 4 months or so, I've really ballooned up and reached my max of 149 this morning. Eek!
I've done other challenges, but never UAC. I'm really looking forward to it!5 -
Hello everyone, I'm Simon from KY. I've suffered with weight issues for nearly all my life and decided this year to make the changes needed to become healthier and happier, along the road is a long journey of weight loss and pushing myself past my limits which is certainly an amazing feeling.
This'll be my third month with the UAC it's a very solid group to be apart of and it is an amazing experience filled with knowledgeable and supportive people. That being said I'm hoping this'll be another amazing month weather permitting of course.
My goals this month are.
- Drop 9 pounds
- Walk / jog 125 Miles (First week is almost all storms)
- Consume no more then 1750 Calories
- Get my blood pressure down by a few points.

Hi all - I'm Calli from central California. I have found challenges to be very helpful in keeping my focus on healthy choices and I'm looking forward to this one. Consistency is definitely not my strength! My only real goals are to stick to the rules of the challenge for the month - that is already a stretch for me. Looking forward to it!4

Hi. I'm Shona. 48 yrs old with roughly 50 lbs to loose. Hoping this challenge will keep me on track even during my holiday! Good luck to you all.3

Greetings UAC members. Thanks for letting me join up. This is my first time participating in this challenge. @Slimpossible007 recommended it. I'm 34 and live in Belgium. I've been struggling with my weight for most of my life. Was a fat kid/teen and successfully lost about 90 pounds around 17-18 years old. Maintained a healthy weight, around 130 lbs/60 kilo, for 10 years. Then I started struggling with life ... and the weight started to creep back. My constant attempts at losing weight have been unsuccessful for the most part and frustrating. Exercise isn't a big issue for me, only during depressions. I have trouble being consistent with logging and I believe I have a high tendency toward self-sabotage. Every time I start losing again, something always happens and I lose my momentum. I've gained 50 pounds during the past 8 years. For my part, I don't need to be 130 again. Am aiming for 150-155 and then I'll reassess. I started out really well this year, but then was diagnosed with a burnout and spent three months on sick leave. This was not a vacation. During this period, I gained, unfortunately. Was too exhausted to exercise and have only recently gotten back into it. Am back at work part-time now and feeling optimistic about getting this show on the road finally. Thanks for reading. Wishing everyone good luck!
SW: 81.6 kilo/180 lbs
First goal: 79 /175
My goals for July are:
- lose 5 pounds (likely too ambitious as I seem to lose soooo slowly)
- start running again
- 930 minutes of exercise5 -
Newbie here. I just came across this group and it's exactly what I need. My weakness is consistency and I really want to make a lifestyle change especially when it comes to regular workouts and having healthy but sustainable eating habits.
With a demanding job and a 5yo, it is tiring most days but I know I can do this and welcome the challenge. I have under 8lbs to lose but more importantly my goal is to look leaner. With such little weight to lose, 0.5 lb per week is my goal.
My workouts will be a mix of endurance cardio and weights. I do work out a home since it is most convenient.
I tend to over eat mostly between 3 - 6 in tje aftwrnoon where I mindlessly eat. I am thinking maybe I can workout during that period to serve as a distraction. Another goal I have for this month is to increase my water intake.
Current weight: 122lbs
Goal weight for July: 120lbs
Ultimate goal weight: 115lbs
Here is to a successful month!!!!

@nyponbell. Intention is to have another UAC group for August (nearer to August).
Surprised the phone app will not allow access to forum if not english. You should be able to see the forum from Safari, Chrome or any other phone browsers (not via the app).

@SimonsChange. Look forward to having you here in UAC. You really are a powerhouse at eating up the miles.
9 lbs in 4.5 weeks is aggressive (but doable). It will be a fine line between weight loss and metabolic slow down. I'd really advise to shoot for 5 lbs as trying to keep weight off while the metabolism recovers is hard work (as shown by US Biggest Loser contestants - https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/6-years-after-the-biggest-loser-metabolism-is-slower-and-weight-is-back-up/ - https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/02/health/biggest-loser-weight-loss.html).
Quick down, more likely to bounce back up. Slower down, more likely to stay down.

Hi, I'm going to be giving this a go for the first time.
I'm a rugby union player, entering the league in Sept so trying to do everything I can to get ready for it... It'll be tough! I'm currently on week 5 of a 12 week lifting course which I'm loving! Deadlifts FTW!
I struggle wih motivation sometimes, I have Coeliac and Hashimotos so easily get run down and have a few days where I do not want to move!4 -
Welcome old and new challengers. I started this great group in April and have lost 6 pounds. I appreciate our leader @RangerRickL; he is inspiring, insightful and genuinely interested in helping all of us succeed. Thank-you Rick.
My name is Dolores and I live in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada. Today is Canada's 150th bday so the celebrations are on. I am a retired teacher and have 3 small grandchildren that I joyfully connect with on a weekly basis. Looking forward to another great UAC month.3 -

Hi, I'm Brandy from Canada. I love how people from all over the world are part of this group! This is my first time on this challenge. I lost 55 lbs on Weight Watchers between 2015 and 2016 and maintained my goal weight for several months. Then I derailed after going through a really tough experience and slowly gained 22 lbs of it back. Recently decided to reboot and refocus again. I switched from using Weight Watchers to myfitnesspal and I'm really liking counting calories a lot better than counting points! I eat a really healthy diet. My downfall has always been snacking in the evenings. I'm glad to have found this challenge! I'm not a member of Weight Watchers anymore and no longer attend their meetings, nor use their online support forum. I know I need to support and be supported by other motivated people to be successful, and I'm feeling grateful this group exists8

I can of course see the forums on my phone through the website; I just didn't think of it! Mainly because I can never remember my password, so I "wasn't able to log in". But I have now done so and will look into the challenge (even if I'm a bit late to join this month).

@nyponbell. Not too late for this month. Saw the posts in July 1 & 2. Welcome aboard.
Glad I could help with a solution.0 -
Hi, I'm Loraine, I'm a Brit living in Las Vegas, NV. I'm too late for the July challenge so hope to join the August one.
I track daily but need the accountability for exercise and just do so much better when part of a group.
I'm excited!2 -
Welcome @LoraineGB! We're glad to have you here.1
