Question about dietary fat vs body fat

I followed a keto or lchf diet for 2 years and lost 20 lbs but was unable to lose more (at the time I had 60 to lose). Although I felt great, much healthier, I still wanted to lose weight. I switched to a program with prepackaged food that is low carb, low fat, and have lost 40 lbs. I now want to switch back to keto so that I can get back to eating a more natural diet but what I'm wondering is this: If you want to burn body fat instead of dietary fat should you lower the amount of fat you are eating?

I don't know if you are using a keto calculator but you can easily google one. This will give you your macros for maintenance and weight loss. I am no expert as I'm pretty new myself, but what I do know is for keto, carbs are a limit, protein is a goal but it's best not to go over because you don't want to have protein convert to glucose. You don't want to go too much under or you'll lose muscle mass. Fat is eaten to satiety. The less dietary fat you eat, the more you burn body fat. The important part for me, is I need to eat enough fat so I am not having cravings for food that are difficult to resist. When you reach that amount, then stop, let your body feed you.
My macros are 20 grams carbs, 78 grams protein and 114 grams fat for a 20% deficit. I generally meet my protein, tho I have occasionally gone both under and over, I do not break that carb limit which means weighing and measuring. The fat, I'm often around 80 grams and that seems to allow me to resist any craving. Your mileage may vary. You'll have to experiment with the fat. The success of this way of eating depends upon you having enough fat in your diet in order to resist the cravings for carbs. I hope that helps.2 -
The way Phinney describes it, yes.

Thank you for passing on info that really is easy to understand and spot on for me! I have been literally having the preverbal light bulb moments a few times this week when I read your posts. Hey, no problem at all. I only know this stuff because someone else at some point turned on the lights for me too
I'm just happy to help others out in the same way.
