As the article states, "This research was supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health," so maybe the NIH is beginning to pay attention to the LCHF woe.

I've posted this before but now seems a good opportunity to re-rant all over again. In my 15 years of dealing with Crohn's, with three different GI specialists in three different cities, not one of them has EVER addressed the issue of diet except for a few offhand warnings about spicy foods and alcohol. When I went LC and reported to my current GI guy that giving up grains had made a huge difference, he politely refrained from yawning in my face but, poor fellow, you could see it was a struggle.

So I won't waste his and my time bringing this article to his attention. Apparently what goes into the top end of our digestive tracts is completely unrelated to what happens on the other end.

    How totally frustrating!!
I had bowel issues for years. just constipation and some cramping, nothing like Chron's. My GI doc told me to eat more grains, and gave me a paper/pencil diary. This was after I reported that grains made things worse. I dutifully ate them for the 2 week period, and got more and more plugged up.
He still didn't really believe me, I'm sure.

For me the key is: very limited grains, lots of vegetables, and some magnesium. I'm regular down to the hour.

So who are we gonna believe: them or our own lying guts?

Last time I thought my guts were lying (back in the olden LF days, mind you) was the last time I ventured out of the house in white pants, before or after Memorial Day.
