Dom D’Agostino’s breakfast – sardines, oysters, eggs and broccoli

I eat sardines as mentioned in another recent thread, cuz Dom D'Agostino. I'm not a huge fan but I eat them. I ate them as a kid: sardines canned in mustard sauce on saltines. Today I buy those in olive oil and most often add a little yellow mustard and skip the saltines.
I like to get out and walk at least a couple miles daily and have fallen into a nice routine of walking to 1 or 2 of the 4 chain supermarkets that are within my walking range of 2.5-5 miles round trip. A can of sardines is often on my list so: I've walked 5 miles just for a can of sardines, even though I don't really love them.
For me sardines=nutrition, exercise, sunshine, fresh air and the opportunity to use my debit card the 30 times per month required to get double the interest rate on the $ in that account. Yes, I'm one of those old ladies who shows up at the self check out (when there is no line) and checks items out one at a time...on senior discount day.3 -
@KnitOrMiss I found these at my local Stater Bros. They also sell them at Whole Foods.
It's wild caught, no BPA in the can, and nonGMO. This brand also sells Sardines in EVOO and in tomato sauce. LOVE Sardines. I can eat them straight out of the can, or fry them on the stove with kimchi mmmm

@LolaDeeDaisy23 - Thank you. I'll keep my eyes open. I don't have a Whole Foods close to me, but I do have a Sprouts and a Natural Grocer store. I'll also check Aldi. I just haven't been able to fall in love with them yet. I can't imagine the smell from frying them...does it improve the taste? I don't really know what my hang up is about them. I'll eat tuna, and liver pate, and other ... odd things some folks don't eat. My mom was not born in the US, so she eats all kinds of things she never introduced us kids to (we grew up on the Standard US Food Stamp aka "white trash" diet of everything processed and white), so it took most of us well into adulthood to develop a taste for anything other than Hamburger Helper or Taco Bell...0 -
The only issue I have with Sardines is that I have to share them with the cats. If I even try to eat them by myself I'll be surrounded and glared at. They can hear a tin opening a mile away.
