Back on the WW boards we could search back to see what a person had written. Now it is not available, or I don't know how to do it.

88olds, I think you posted something about the slippery slope of thinking "what's the use" when you are having a difficult time of things. If you have time, could you reiterate that thought?

My wife just said that to me, and I know that your comments would be appropriate.

near the top of the page, click "Search" - then in the search text box, on the right side is a down arrow - click that and it opens all the search options, including search by author.

"Why bother?" If we aren't satisfied with our successes, it's a short step to Why bother?

That .4 or even .2 loss is weight loss happening. Failure to accept our own success is a sure way to fail.

And we all had a last time. We say this time won't be like last time. Maybe the difference needs to be that this time we'll be happy with that .2.

I found it!! Thanks so much @bwmalone for the instructions. This is what I was looking for from an old LTL thread on May 9th, woulda, coulda, shoulda

This was the response from @880lds:

"It's amazing how easy that idea pops in my head or comes out of my mouth.

Can be a branch of "not good enough." Worked out for 45 min, shoulda done an hour. Grilled steak & veggies for dinner, should had a salad.

    Shoulda lost more this week.

If you are never going to be good enough, it's a short step to "why bother?" No way to live."

When you ended your statement with "No way to live" it really hit me hard. I want to keep remembering this.

Yes I'm learning to "like" the small losses but DANG I think what would happen if I wasn't trying to eat right and exercise?

Oh yeah I would GAIN weight Duh!

I keep remembering what I heard on GoaD long time ago:
What changes when you reach goal?

    NOTHING!
