I will try this eating schedule for this week and see if it's something I can stick with.

I'd try to give it at least 3 weeks before you decide.

I do IF variously 16:8, 18:6, 20:4. I mix it up to keep my body guessing. [...] I plan to do longer fasts in the future (48-72 hours) to boost my metabolism & promote autophagy.[...]

This is me too. My usual IF is 16:8 however on days I'm not super hungry, it ends up being 20:4 or 18:6. It varies from day to day but is usually one of these three. I completed my first 24 hr fast a couple of days ago, and will be doing that once every week or so, slowly increasing the fasting time from 24 to 36 hrs, 48 hrs, etc.

I absolutely love IF, I feel like it has really balanced my body and retrained me on how to listed to hunger signals, thirst signals, etc... which were really messed up from a lifetime of eating by the clock.

When I was younger I avoided certain ceremonies and spiritual retreats if they required fasting, because I felt I just couldn't do it. I was glucose-fueled and there was no way I was willing to experience low blood sugar symptoms voluntarily, even for a spiritual experience. I am so happy to be fat-adapted now, going long periods of time without eating is no longer scary to me - bring on the ceremonies and retreats! I would be super open to that now :)

Also, the concept of autophagy fascinates me, and since I have a lot of weight to lose, excess skin is a concern. IF is worth a shot. It would be a huge plus to not have hanging skin once all this weight is gone!
