Acid reflux

I'm a returning member and trying to get off the 63 lbs I'd lost 2 years ago. I've always dealt with acid reflux but now that I've gained weight back, it's worse than ever. I've gotten off the ppis because I was concerned about long term use. My question is how many of you with acid reflux got relief after weight loss. My GI Dr told me that my LES valve doesn't close all the way. I don't have a hiatal hernia. Just hoping that weight loss will make a difference.
