Does anyone jog, or want to try with me?

Hi, I joined MFP earlier this week so I'm new here. I've been going to a crossfit gym for a while and sometimes there is running involved. My instructor always scales me down so it is more doable for me. I've only been able to jog 200m so far without slowing down to a walk. I would really like to improve my jogging ability, so I'm planning on starting couch to 5k. I realize that it will be a very long time until I can actually jog a whole 5k, but I would like to start trying. Does anyone else go jogging? Would anyone else like to try couch to 5k with me? I will be stretching out the goals longer so they are more doable for me and my large body.

my dream nsv will be to jog or run...i could try with you but again will need to change it up a bit as im still 300lbs..
  • That's okay. I'm 326 pounds. I can't remember off hand, but I think the Couch to 5k starts with walking for 4 minutes, then job for 90 seconds. You stay at that level until you can do it. I'm sure it will take some training for me just to finish week 1 of C5k.

I've thought about the C5k but I've wondered if I would hurt myself trying to jog? I'm 313 and rather large breasted.

I want to jog! It's my dream to be able to get up in the morning and go for a proper, normal person, jog. NHS C25K podcast, anyone?

I am like rest of you and would love to jog......I would love to walk. I am overweight and have feet and knee problems....that is the worse! I wouldn't go to the store for a long time because I refused to ride a cart. Can't remember the last time I went "shopping".....so all of you that still have good feet.....get out there and move and get the weight off before you get any older...you can do it!!!
  • i seriously don't know how to jog anymore. i walk on the treadmill 3x week and i have gotten up to 2.5 mph and that is as fast as i can walk. i have been thinking about starting to jog, but i don't know what to do. how do i turn a walk into a jog? boy am i glad i have people on here who understand what it's like to be heavy. so, anyone have any suggestions? if i can learn to do it, i'll do the couch to 5K thing with you.
  • well, i jogged today! twice during my treadmill workout i cranked it up to 3 mph and jogged for a minute each time. so i guess i can do it!
