What I do for a living...

I don't get to show tangible proof of what I do for a living very often; but, in this case I do.

The attached link shows the very first arrestment (capture) and launch of an aircraft on an aircraft carrier using the brand new electromagnetic system developed by General Atomics (my bosses). It will be a bit underwhelming, probably; but, let me assure you, the knowledge, physics, and engineering required dwarfs anything else I've ever worked on.
I've worked on both the launch side and the arrestment side. Enjoy.

Very Nice Greg. reminds me of the obvious Hyperloop proposal which would provide "train" passage from Portland OR to Seattle in perhaps 15 minutes using magnetic accelerators. WhooooOOSH!0

I served on the Carl Vinson, berthed right under the #2 cat - such a big change from the Steam cats, I bet! What a great project to be on!0 -
What an amazing accomplishment, Greg! Video is too much for my connection but the article filled me in and it's really nothing short of amazing. Congratulations to you and the entire team / enterprise! That puts a whole different context on the word 'teamwork'...0
