Hi folks, does anyone have a good link to easy to access exercise/calorie burning info? Several times I've tried to use the MFP exercise info but I couldn't find what I needed there. TIA

You can create new ones if what you are looking for doesn't exist...I don't eat back exercise calories, so while I track minutes and what exercise, I'm not ever double checking the calories MFP has listed.

Speaking as one who lived by the motto of "I will work out as much as I have to in order to eat what I want, when I want and how much I want," I will say I find little value in tracking exercise when it comes to weight management. I have been maintaining weight at where I was back in when I played 9th grade football in 1985 for the last year or so and for the year or so before that which was during the time I was getting back down to that.

During much of that time, I was tracking all my food and using the Fitbit syncing option to measure exercise. I found the "exercise calories" did not really line up. Two phrases I have learned recently seem to bee quite accurate:

    1. You can't out exercise a bad diet.
    2. You lose pounds in the kitchen and ounces at the gym.

That said, I would recommend exercise for the numerous benefits but not for weight loss. I would also recommend not adjusting your caloric intake based on how many calories you burned from exercise (assuming you figure out a way to accurately track them).

In case you are interested, I peaked at 223 lbs in 2012 and very slowly lost that through very modest calorie cutting to just over 200 in 2015. Then I started cutting carbs instead of calories and lost the rest down to 190 fairly easily. When I went keto last August, I unintentionally dropped to 175 (which was too light) within about 6 weeks. I have been maintaining around 185 for the since last September/October.

Well, about a month ago I finally started experiencing the keto energy everyone talks about. :) I increased my exercising and on top of that I've been painting rooms in my house. Before the energy increase I was maintaining my maintenance goal but now I can't keep my weight up. I like to stay around 113lbs and I'm at 111 which is too low for me. I guess painting rooms is more calorie burning than I thought. I hadn't even considered that as exercise but I move along at a pretty fast pace. Man, am I loving the energy or what? YES I am! :)
