i've never lost this much in a week. i have about 25 lbs to lose. my calories are set at 1200. i only ate exercise calories back one day when i was extra hungry.
i just don't want to gain it all back. hoping it's water weight and fat too....
can someone check my food diary and give tips?
i'm 46 almost 47. probably 39% body fat [based on pictures] beginning 167 current 159. Goal 140-145. [and i'm 5'2" my skinny weight in my 30s was low 130s].
Thanks.

It looks like this is your first week on low carb / keto? Your diary only goes back 7 days. If so, then I wouldn't be too worried at this stage. It's not uncommon to lose this much in the first week. IIRC I lost 7 lbs in my first week.
It is almost certainly primarily water in the initial week or so, and the loss will slow down over the next week or two.0 -

Sounds familiar! Enjoy it while it lasts, as things tend to get tougher as you near your initial goal weight. BTW, if you stay hydrated and get 4-5g of sodium per day, your chances of avoiding the mythical "keto flu" improve greatly.2 -
A lot of times the first week is a lot of water weight, unfortunately it will slow down. So don't be nervous and keep on keto'ing!!0

You lose a lot of water week one. No other week will ever be like that. Don't let that bother you when the loss is smaller next week. That's how it works.1

8 pounds, even if it is just water weight, will still make your jeans fit better ~ congrats! Think of it as a little bit of a head-start for your weight loss.3

Doing fine. Mostly water. Happens with most people. It will slow down. Feels good though to shed 8 pounds no matter what it is! Remember those 8 pounds a few weeks from now when your losses are considerably lower or none. Be sure to include them for your average.1

Until I learned better I twice carb loaded and the scales shot up 6 pounds over night. Keep up the good success.2

Now is the time to take your measurements if you haven't before you started, because from now on even if you don't lose weight on the scale your body will start to change shape and get smaller. Those NonScaleVictories will keep you upbeat when your body starts to slow the lb# loss. Also don't forget the health benefits you will see from a low carb diet.4
