Day 3

Hi all!
So amongst a whole bunch of hormonal and autoimmune issues I am also trying to lose 30lbs of extra baby weight from my new twins!
With out knowing it I've always eaten at a 16/8, I'm just not a snacker or night eater so it's pretty easy for me.
After reading about IF & LCHF I've decided to really focus but I need some advice and someone to give me a stern talking to!!!
I'm in day 3 and I've gained 8oz...
I was expecting at the very least a large water loss. Is it to early to see results?
My body is wildly inflamed right now from IBS flare so I'm trying to work on reducing that. I'm assuming this is creating some weird weight loss issues.
If my body is used to 16/8 should I drop it to a 18/6?
I am wanting to follow through with this so much but I get so disappointed when it doesn't work that I just quit.
(Plus my in laws are coming to stay for the next 4 days so not drinking ALOT is going to be hard! Lol)

Welcome!
Are you breastfeeding? That can impact scale weight.
If your body is inflamed from IBS, that can impact scale weight.
I would take marker measurements and track progress that way since you have a chronic condition that can skew the numbers on the scale. Also, eating this way is very healing and sometimes there are other systems repairing before weight drops off.3 -
Yes, absolutely inflammation (IBS) will cause you to retain water, it is your body's first response.
Not everyone has a huge water loss with low carb, I never have, on the plus side, I've never had the need for huge amounts of salt either, so it's not totally a downside.
Don't rely on the scale, take measurements, particularly non-torso measurements if you are bloated from IBS. Torso measurements are good, just don't stick to only those, do arms and legs and such as well. And pictures. Non-scale progress is still progress.1
