Hello team mates!
I, Rick who live near Chicago in the USA, share leadership with @craigo3154 who lives near Victoria, Australia. (Craig, I hope I got that right). I like to call him Sir Craig, because he is such a caring gentleman.
This is a volunteer job, but we really care about each of you.
Please share your journey toward healthy habits with us and the rest of the team. It is so much more interesting, fulfilling and motivating when we each get real about what's happening in our lives. Sharing is great, but a simple daily response is respected too.7 -
Yes x 3 today.
It's my wedding anniversary so was touch and go as we started the day with a relaxed breakfast in bed and ended with dining out but managed to go for a walk around lunchtime and squeezed in a quick run before dinner (good job as I needed the calories)11 -
September 2
Exercised?: Yes. Walked 5 Km in 38 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Friends over for lunch today. Big lunch, but still inside daily limit (just - only needed a light top up for dinner). Good day.
Managed to get walk in before they came over.
Fathers day in Australia tomorrow. Lunch planed with my family (parents, sister and nephew). Will be good to have time with family. Hopefully can stay inside budget, but not too stressed if I go over.
Quick intro:
Opting in for a fifth month with UAC now. 49yo father of one from Australia. Started tracking weight and food when I realised I was heading for obese for the first time in my life. UAC has been helping keep me honest and on track. Have now hit goal weight having lost over 20kg (40 lbs) and working on maintaining now. Finding UAC is helping create good, sustainable habits with the help of a wonderfully supportive group.
I try to walk daily for exercise (you will see more from me about this as the month progresses). I walk reasonably fast in reasonably steep hills which burns a lot of calories. It has taken months to build up pace and stamina.
I try help out and encourage as much as I can. I tend to research a lot, and am happy to share what I have learned.
I love to hear how other people are going.

A little about why I'm here..
My name is Trixsey (Trix) and I'm a mother of two teenagers (boy and girl) and a slave to two dogs, lol.
I started my weight loss journey last year, hit a bad patch in my life and kinda shut myself away from the world for a little over a year.
The weight plummeted up to 13 stone (182 pounds) and was suffering with different health problems.
I got the motivation to get myself in gear and sort myself out and I've been battling on since then, lol.
Lost over 3 stone so far (42 pounds) with 14 pounds left to go, I'll be a healthy weight for my BMI which is obviously my main goal.
I do tend to overdo my exercise regime, push myself to the point where I sometimes make myself ill, but I am getting better at restricting myself and only doing so much each day and taking rest days as I need them.
Recently took up bike riding, which I really enjoy, and I take daily walks with the dogs where I like to keep a track of my distance travelled and steps taken.
This will be my third month with all of you, I love being here and reading your posts each day.
This group has really helped me stay focused these past few months, kept me honest and on track with my calories (remembering I must eat!) and I thank you all for sharing your own triumphs and setbacks as you each of you travel your own journey to a healthier lifestyle.
I look forward to sharing another month with all of you.

My name is Dolores. This is my 6th month with this group. I am an obliger so I need outer accountability, hence this group. I retired from teaching in 2011, I have 3 young grandchildren who I see on a weekly basis. I love being active(walking, pickle ball and going to the gym). Some of my other hobbies are art( pencil pastels), reading( book club) and playing the piano. This is a GREAT group. A big thank-you to @RangerRickL and @craigo3154 for their leadership.8

tracking yes - I intended on a pass day as I was going to be eating at my fav holiday restaurant, but we got there and it was closed ... so I decided from that point forward I was going to be good ( and I was)
within cals yes
Exercise yes all day on and off -- a walk down memory lane to our old camping spot with the kids ..... I walked just under 6000 steps (we drove parked and done short walks, ... my hip / back / tendon/ whatever seems to be coping well although this might be more to do with the pain killers and beer and vodka than the exercise ... but I will take it (and no doubt pay for it tomorrow) ....even with the alcohol I am way under on calories due to eating soups and fruit when out today .. I held off for my fav holiday restaurant only to find it was no longer open and after that I decided on sensible calories ... I am very very pleased with my day
I am now so so sleepy, we came across a cpl road blocks on the way back home sending us 60 miles off of our path then a big traffic jam back in Glasgow which stole another hour of our time
here is two of the pics from our day, Taken at Inveraray

Back from the fair and since I told you my strategy I had to stick to it!! Worked out before we left. Ate a hard boiled egg and yogurt on my way there. Enjoyed 7 hours of family time and had my milkshake and a peach. The kids really weren't into all the food as I thought they might be. Light dinner later than I usually eat at home. Track and with calories to spare. Feel good about the day! @pears734 enjoy your fair day. @Slimpossible007 glad you had a good day too! @hawkins410 huh!!!! If it's not one thing it's another. Glad to see you on the thread.

Sheesh!! Pass Day #1
A travelling day from Madge Lake to home. Very pooped from visiting these last couple of days plus the long drive home. Never fails; travelling plus being tired throws me off track. Back on track tomorrow. I must make the winner's circle this month!!!!4 -
Happy Wedding Anniversary @aeshippers
@pcotter54 No worries about the pass day. Let's just hang in there.

We had a cooling trend in the weather today;
It was down to 99 degrees from yesterday's 110!
Yes x 3! I did a lot of walking and even MORE housecleaning. My husband comes home from a 3 week trip tomorrow, so as we joke, "It is time to clean up the beer cans and cigar butts".
My back is SO much better! It does feel like it is one thing after another @120maggie! I'm taking baby steps with the exercise so as to not overdo it.
Happy Anniversary @aeshippers!
Beautiful pictures @Slimpossible007!
Great job at the fair @120maggie!

@aeshippers I too, salute you and congratulate you on your wedding anniversary!
I'm here because, Iike @Dosse1320, I need external accountability. When I promise another person that I will do something, then my duty value kicks in and I almost always will fulfill my duty...to someone else. I easily shirk my duty to myself.
I'm a 67 year old grandfather, father, husband, lawyer and farmer. I live on a horse farm and love all horses and children. This week, I had the pleasure of have two of my 4 grandchildren here and both of them rode my horses. That kind of day feels like heaven to me.
I also participate on the board of directors of an therapeutic equine riding center dedicated to improve the lives of persons with physical and developmental disabilities.
I'm not at my ideal weight, but I'm ok by me and my wellness doctor. My goal is to maintain my weight and muscle mass.
Today's report:
Calories: under my limit
Exercise: big day working on the farm. cutting trees; carrying logs; and lots of walking 2.5 hours
Tracking: ok7 -

Yes x 3 - it was a great day!
We stayed home most of the day with our 4 month old kitten! She is so much fun; between high energy jumping off the walls almost to crawling up and wanting to sleep on our shoulders. So fun to not be working and spending time with her. Next two days are busy with kids - once they move out of the house you spend more time figuring who to spend the day with and not let the others feel left out5 -
@aeshippers, Happy Anniversary!
@Hawkins410, sounds like my neck of the woods, 108 degrees yesterday. Egads!
Yes x 3, minimum of exercise because of the heat, but made it.
I'm here because I want to be healthy, and not regain the weight I've lost over the last year. I lose my willpower when left to my own devices. If I'm not diligent, I always get fat. That seems to be my natural set-point . I'm taking it slow now, with easy calorie limits and achievable goals. Anyway, I love this group, and I love hearing about you all.6 -
2-Sept-2017
I met all three goals, today. I like to do longish, more intense workouts on my days off and the weekend--and I was able to do that, today.
I'm 48 years old. I have two fantastic university age children and have acquired a lovely middle school child through my amazing partner:). I have been active my whole life, and was a track and field sprinter and high jumper until I was 21 years old.
I am 5'10". I mention that, because my height has lead to some complacency on my part. Since I'm tall--I can easily gain 15 pounds without it affecting me where it counts--my closet of clothes...and I'm not gonna lie...I LOVE MY CLOTHING.
I'd been about the same weight for my entire life until about 4 years ago. At that time, I gained some weight, but managed to lose that 15 pounds; however, it then it began to pile on, again. The culprits??? Too much ice cream, milk chocolate, and bigger than usual portions of food. I also suffered a knee injury and horrible plantar fasciitis--all from running on hard surfaces, as I looked for different solutions to help me lose the weight--that dramatically reduced my ability to work out the way that I'd been accustomed.
Anyway, I decided that all my aches and pains and injuries were my body's way of telling me that the extra 15-20 pounds had to go, and I decided to do something about it. The first 2 weeks were so tough. Now, it's all good. I had to relearn appropriate portion sizes, so I weight, measure, and record EVERYTHING. It works.
Historically, I've lost weight very quickly and unsafely, but this time I wanted to do it right. I cannot be hungry. At. All. I'm losing the weight slowly and am making some sustainable lifestyle changes. So far, so good.
This group has been so incredibly helpful and I'm very grateful to be a participant.5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. Dog walk and a Wetlands walk
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
My story: I was born and raised in London, England. I emigrated to America in 2010 to Oklahoma City. My life changed 180 degrees, I no longer had a career, couldn't work because of immigration status and went from working out with a trainer (UK Strongman under 90k) three times a week with bootcamp at weekends, to doing nothing. Quality and quantity of food was very different in America, most meals were 3 to 4 times the size of what I was used to. At first, I would eat half portion, then over time, I ate what was on the plate. I also couldn't find good produce, it's seems weird but the food was so very different, it still is but I manage it really well now.
The first six years were a struggle, not having the close relationships I was used to with family and friends, the time difference and moving every two years took its toll. However, we put roots down in Las Vegas in 2015, it took me over a year to get to like it (!) and now I am loving life again. I have found some really good grocery stores, I eat clean 80% time (still like my drink), walk a lot when the weather permits and have met some really good, new friends.
I retire at 55 in March 2019 and I am working towards optimum health and wellness for my retirement. I want to have an active and healthy lifestyle that is my 'norm', so all that I am doing now, is investing in my future. I am lucky enough not to take any medication and the osteoarthritis and bone spurs that I do have are alleviated when I'm at a good weight. What I am practicing now is sustainable for the rest of my life. I ask a lot from my body, the least I can do is treat it right….
Thanks to all those sharing their stories!5 -

Yikes that was close!1 -
Late check in here. 3 yesses today. Ran for 2.5km then walked back. Supper was ready when I walked in the door so I sat down and now I'm realizing I forgot to stretch... oh my legs are aching and I'm really going to regret that tomorrow!!
I'm a 35 year old Canadian mama to 3. This is my third month with UAC and I love it. Accountability has always been a huge motivation for me in losing weight, but this time around (working on 15 or so pounds that crept on in the past year and a half..) I am much preferring having the accountability on here rather than with friends in person. I've had times where exercising and counting calories have become a bit of an obsession so not talking about it daily with my close friends is keeping that at bay. Plus the scale is moving super slow and I know talking about that would have me feeling discouraged so I'd rather focus on being active and making good food choices and sustainable habits.5 -
Ugh I wrote a longer post but must have lost my internet connection and it's gone.
In summary, it was pass #1. Travel day and didn't track or get enough exercise really but home sweet home and ready for my fresh September start @Dosse1320!
Also happy birthday to @loopydo2017 and happy anniversaries to all celebrating!
@RangerRickL please tell @2020pinktogo that the UAC isn't the same without her!2 -
Sept 2
Exercise: no. IBS flare up has me down and out. Started a new medication and it's making feel realllllly weird.
sigh....I'm hoping to get at least some walking and yoga done today. If I'm not active I start to feel guilty and ashamed...completely unreasonable I know. My exercise used to be so much better..I run and lots of walking and lots of yoga August. i did just above the bare minimum and I feel awful. SO I hereby declare September will be better!!!
This wil be my 1st pass day.2 -
Exercise: Yes: more hours of painting, I feel like all I've been doing lately is house remodeling... but at least it's keeping me really active.
Calories: Yes
Tracking: Yes3
