What healthy food is in the house when you return from trips?

What do you have in the freezer and the pantry ready to go when you return from a trip?

We got home after being gone for 2+ weeks. It was a long drive home and we were pooped after unpacking and all of the things one has to do when you get home. When I'm tired, I don't make the best food choices. We didn't have anything for dinner so we ended up getting pizza. I should have planned better.

So here is the question for all of you. What do you keep in the freezer/pantry that can be ready to go quickly when you return home from a trip and you're pooped? Frozen vegetables for stirfry? Frozen lean cuisine? Shendler pie?

There is always some pre-portioned food in the freezer from the bulk cooking I do for my work meals. I also have frozen pepper & onions, spinach, and brown rice in my freezer at all times. I can whip up a satisfying omelet in no time at all. Unopened liquid egg whites will keep in the refrigerator for many weeks. And I've never had an issue with whole eggs going bad so they are always in my refrigerator too.

Good question. Long trip not much as I like to eat fresh but will stop at store for fresh vittles. I don't freeze food portions much. Shorter trips there are always good stuff in the fridge and freezer. I do store nice boneless, skinless chicken breasts in freezer which thaw and cook pretty fast.
