What's daily water intake?

Water is a huge part of your weight-loss journey. How else do you expect your body to flush out all the toxins and body fat from your body? Recommended intake is 75%-100% of your body weight. I weight 128 so I need to drink 96-128 oz water a day. Are you meeting your daily goal?

I try to drink at least 2 liters of water a day (68 oz). There used to be days when I had hardly anything to drink so this is a really big change for me. 1 liter while at work and 1 liter at home is what I think is ok for me. I read somewhere that overhydration can be a big problem. The Institute of Medicine's water intake recommedations:

That chart is minimum water intake; I'd assume. Read this; especially the how much water do you need section. http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/water-for-weight-loss-diet#1

Also, it's VERY hard to over hydrate! If you are worried about over hydration, make sure you're getting enough sodium, but not more than the recommended daily amount of no more than 2,300 milligrams.

Yes, I'd say this chart is about the minimum intake as well.

Great article. It is difficult to say exactly how much one should drink as we are all so different and our levels of activity vary. I try to follow most of the advice given in this article - a glass of lukewarm water first thing in the morning (this is the hardest for me, I'm still working on making this a habit), a glass of water about half an hour before every meal, always have a bottle of water with me (in the car, on my desk at work, on walks...) and drink throughout the day, not all at once. I also check the bowl to see if the color is lemonade-like :). But I've only recently started noticing that I sometimes have difficulty distinguishing between hunger and thirst - I often eat when all I need is fluid. Working on that...

I don't track sodium, but I use it for cooking, so I'm sure I get enough. Do you consider tea as daily fluid intake as well? I sometimes make a cup of tea instead of having a snack and it's just the regular fruit tea bag, nothing fancy. Hot water with some flavour basically :).

It depends on the tea, if it has caffeine in it, I do not track that as water. If it's decaf, I don't see why you can't. I personally only track water as water. I sometimes like to spice up my water by making it "spa like quality" by adding some berries, cucumber, or lemon to it.
