What has your experience been with prescriptions to help regulate your blood sugar? Any advice?
(I recently began taking Metformin- and it is not fun and I am interested to know the experience of others)

My Dad was on Metformin, he said, "NOT FUN." He had a lot of side effects and stopped taking it. He ended up in the hospital for his diabetes after ignoring it for so long. He's on Glipzlide (spelling???) and that has helped him eat less, lose weight and control his blood sugar. He's doing pretty well now, but he's also on blood thinners and all the rest. He's kinda on borrowed time at age 70, which to be fair he should get a trophy for out living most everyone else. This disease really has cut a swath through my relatives.

I have yet to hear a happy account of Metformin use, which is crazy considering how often it is prescribed. My family is also a walking PSA for diabetes :(
