Not knowing if you mean (per the bold) this specific GROUP or the overall MFP Website, I will post this from our LCD Forum Stickies:

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10184341/please-read-group-expectations#latest.

In regards to this specific GROUP, I've been participating for about 18 months. The forum favors/respects all low carb ways of eating but does seem to have most discussions related to ketogenic, at least IMO.

I currently eat very low carb without emphasis on ketosis. I lost all my excess weight eating low carb of 150 total carb grams or less, trialed medically therapeutic keto (in maintenance) for a year and now keep carbs low with a personal focus on whole foods of fish/meat/vegetables/some fruit/eggs/dairy/nuts and seeds. Potatoes and sweet potatoes are occasionally in my food diary. Pasta, rice and sweets (keto/low carb or otherwise) not often. Peanut butter off the spoon should occasionally be entered as a "food group" for me. LOL but I'll include it in nuts and seeds OR LEGUMES since peanuts are a legume. :) I'm looking forward to chili this fall and winter since I did not eat legumes last winter while eating ketogenic due to the carb content of legumes.

I welcome comments and threads in our group regarding general low carb eating as I believe "there is no one true way". I'm guessing many here are general "low carbers" (versus keto folks) and may be readers versus posters.

Sorry if you include legumes in a recipe with chilies and meat, it becomes bean soup. Chili has NO beans. You can eat as many of them as you like on the side, but Chili never contains beans.

Yes, I am one of those folks! <r,d & g>

LOL. I have a brother living in Texas and he would agree with you 100%. For you and my brother, I am looking forward to bean soup this winter. :)

I've been here a while and have thoroughly enjoyed a wide diversity of different discussions on Low-Carb, keto, fasting, and many different aspects of this WoE including sodium intake, NSVs, recipes, effect on different conditions such as Diabetes, HBP, fibromyalgia, liver and kidney problems and heart conditions.

What exactly are you looking for??

I've probably been gone more than 18 months. But the used to be several...several discussion groups. I'm not seeing that many. Is there another place to find them? Do the fall off the screen after so many days now? I know how to do the low-carb as I am doing it under the direction of my doc. She wants me max close to 60 grams a day.

This is all there is to MFP groups. The format hasn't been any different since I joined the group in Sept of 2014. Groups have only stickies to post at the top of the group and one section. If I recall correctly, they may not keep as many threads on the front page as they used to. You can click "All Discussions" at the bottom of the main group page to see the older threads that have been bumped down off the front page. It would be nice if we had other sections like the Low-carb forums on other sites or like the Main Forums on MFP. But that isn't in the cards.

Have you clicked the 'All discussions' link below the dozen or so threads that appear once you open the group? That brings up all the threads. I'm new and a lurker mainly, but I think there a ton of threads a a lot of great activity here.

Perusing the vast collection of posts and threads in the sticky LCD Launchpad should suffice to dispel any notion that this LCD group has not been active over the past 2 years.

Perhaps having such a great reference
mini-library explains why many members no longer post regularly in threads involving common scenarios and questions.

OP, if you are looking for some different low carb groups to search for those you have to be on the Groups homepage, not one of the groups' home pages. Once you are there, use the search box on the right hand side for searching only groups. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for, MFP has never had more members nor groups than it currently does. And if you are looking for non MFP discussion formums I recommend the Ketogenicforums run by the 2KetoDudes

    link to Groups home page

If anything, I think there may be more groups (besides LCD) now. LCHF and keto have become much more popular and more groups and discussions have popped up.

The main difference I see now are fewer people (in other boards) arguing about how "dangerous" and "unsustainable" LCHF or keto. People know more and are less ignorant in this area. :)

    Welcome back. :)

The past month or so has kind of been taken over by a quarter of the US bracing for hurricane after hurricane, so that is probably contributing to it.

That said, while the volume of discussion may have gone down, that's largely because the quality has gone up. There were times where I'd see the same topic in two different threads on the same page. That doesn't happen as often anymore, but the group is certainly not dead by any stretch of the imagination.

If you feel a topic is missing, by all means start a thread.

Many folks are busy trying to get outdoor stuff done before the colder weather comes so that may be another reason. I love this forum. :)

The cousin group: Keto (http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1143-keto) is moderately active. There are some overlap between folks here and there, but there are different folks in both groups, just as an FYI.

I'm one of those folks who feels that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," so I'll be the first to admit I'm not out there looking for other groups.

For non-MFP sites, I think most of them are listed in the launchpad... There are a huge number of folks making their personal favorite recommendations!
