Also keep in mind that as your gutbiome changes, the cravings will subside. Your old sugar gut bugs/colonies can hang around for weeks after you have made a change to reduce your sugar. Kefir, Labne, Pickles/juice, Avacados, Radishes, along with coffee will help your gut bugs get in line. I find sleep is what i need first, along with proper hydration/electrolytes, and then focus on changing your gut bugs. I am thankful that I rarely have cravings.

You can buy those salt licks at any feed & seed store in the USA...at least, I've seen them at all the ones local to me...super cheap compared to buying himalayan salt in a grocery, and horses are far more sensitive to toxins than people, so even if it's not labeled for human consumption, you are pretty safe if it is labeled for equine consumption.

Now that I have been LCHF for over 3 years and maintained my automatic weight loss for 2.5 eating this WOE I still respect CARBS but I do not fear them any longer because of the past physical/mental harm I permitted them to cause me.

Personally I expect in my case going NO carb forever might be harmful to my health 40+ years down the road. That is why I do more or less 50 grams of carbs daily but sugar load from time to time on fresh fruit to maintain metabolic flexibility.

I never knew my A1C until just 8 months ago when it was 5.2 but 8 months later it was down to 5.0. Over the years my fast blood sugar was always over 100 but typical under 110. At the last set of labs 2 months ago when my A1C was 5.0 the fasting blood sugar was down to a solid 95.

While this sugar loading from fresh fruit will bump my weight for several days and make me want to eat the legs off of the table I see it as a potential plus to keep the body's sub systems off guard from time to time to keep them flexible being age 66. This is not medical advice to others. :)

@GaleHawkins I also eat some carbs but love those grapes too much to be moderate with them. I used to be one of those babies who would eat yummy pureed fruits till I puked. Being as I was first born, Mom knew that wasn't quite 'normal' but didn't quite know when to cut me off. Didn't take long for her to learn though, lol.
