Welcome to the Fort Polk Fitness group where you can come to get energized to meet your personal goals. Let me alert you to our disclaimer that you only share information that you are comfortable sharing with everybody. We cannot control who sees the information put out on this site. You may edit your log in name to be less identifiable and don't include any pictures if you want to be more private. We hope you can meet others along the way with similar goals as you to help you along your path. Otherwise, this site will help you with your own personal accountability.

To start any health and fitness path you must first set an achievable goal. What is it that you want achieve?

Here are examples of reasonable goals?
I want to lose 5 pounds this month.
I want to drop my hemoglobin A1C by 1% on 3 months.
I want to improve my 2 mile time by 1 minute in 3 months.

Here are some examples of unhealthy or unreasonable goals:
I want to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks.
I want to drop my hemoglobin A1C 5% this month
I want to improve my 2 mile run time by 5 minutes in 1 week.

These goals would be difficult and frustrating and also unhealthy. They would be difficult to sustain. If any results were attained at all they would likely be lost quickly.

lets figure out goals that we can achieve that can give us results we can sustain.
