How to start a walking program

First of all, you should seriously discuss all of your fitness plans with your doctor.

Week 1: Start walking for 10 minutes for three days
Week 2: If all is going well, add 3-5 minutes to each session
Week 3: See if you can add a 4th day of walking per week

Continue to add 3-5 minutes of walking per day, with an end goal of walking 30-45 minutes, 5 days per week

It is best to gradually increase your time or intensity when beginning any exercise program
