As a kid, I actually did turn a bit orange from all the carrots I was eating. My mom had me rushed to the doctor because she was worried about me being jaundiced.LOL
I wasn't quite that orange...3 -
@nvmomketo - that happened with my daughter when she was 6-9 months old or so, too. Sweet potatoes, carrots, and sometimes peaches were her favorite baby foods, and she always wanted them.... LOL1

During the 2nd WW years, here in the UK, carrots were a constant stand-by. Hundreds of imaginative recipes were invented to try to vary the dishes, but it always came don to 'carrot' soemthing. People in crowded cities took to living in underground chambers and tunnels, and those especially vulnerable (London, the South Coast,) lived there for considerable periods of time.
Consequently, they suffered from lack of daylight, too...
And turned orange. Bright orange. Because they were so pale to begin with.1
