Current population is 325 million.
26% prediabetic or 9.3% diabetic or 35.2% that are one or the other...but not half...

Furthermore, countries like the United States and England have such a problem with obesity they are having to change their height/weight charts to let people still join the military.

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread by going there, but I think it boils down to the processed foods and wheat intake. At least that is what I surmised from reading the wheat belly book. It makes sense since we didn't have this issue before they started hybrid changes to wheat.
Anyway, I apologize if I took this somewhere the poster didn't want to go. I think it's all related though.3 -
They used a very small population sample - less than 3K adult for estimating prevalence, and only 24K for trend estimation. There's not going to be a huge amount of accuracy with that kind of input given a base population of 325 mil.0

N=1 only but over the past three years staying off sugar and grains has solidly reversed my prediabetes numbers. Last A1C was 5.0
I actually got off sugar and grains on a hunch it might manage my arthritis pain of 40 years. In just 30 days I knew my hunch was in fact a home run and proven over the past 1095 days.5
