Oops I had dessert

Went out for tea tonight..
Did really well for entree, had anti pesto, chose steak and veg. With garlic butter.. But then came dessert and oooops ..I failed... I had half a lemon meringue and half a vanilla slice...
And believe it or not..I didn't enjoy either of them..
But I'm owning it.. And announcing it.. and determined to get back into it asap..
Straight back to it tomorrow morning.. 2 days of less then 20 carbs, should get me back into ketosis..
I don't feel overly guilty, I feel like I deserved to splurge but I'm going to be stronger next time for sure..

Glad to hear that you're owning it. Hopefully you tracked it to know exactly what it did to your carb counts. That can be very powerful.
For me the "I deserve it" mindset is one that I have to continually guard against, as it can lead me far astray. When I start to have that thought, I re-frame it to "I deserve to be fit and healthy" and that helps me to keep on course. I also try to identify the trigger of the "I deserve that pie" thinking. Is it that my dining companion is having it and it looks good, was the meal not satisfying, etc. For me, if I mindfully dissect it, I can usually keep my course and avoid the temptation. I will usually try to eat something that will provide some instant satiety, like a bit of heavy cream or avocado. Something rich, with good 'mouth feel'
Sounds like you have a good plan to get back on track, which is great, as sometimes one little slip can cause days, weeks or a more permanent slide.2 -

My trigger was my husband's gone away for the weekend with the boys..and I tried filling the void with sweets..I got caught up with the kids ordering sweets..
I did track it in my diary and almost had a mini heart attack when I saw how many carbs I'd eaten..
But as I said.. fast tomorrow morning and then to keto on!!!! I can and I will do this..1
