I am taking a rest day and looking forward to a long weekend. Monday, is BC day in British Columbia, Canada. My DH really needs the rest as he has a long commute and is working long hours.
After a month of sunny weather which is nice but unusual for here, we have rain which means the air quality will improve. Yeah! My headache will ease off with the cleaner air.0 -
TGIF!
Hey Donna, what does BC stand for and enjoy your restful day along with the long weekend!
It is going to be another triple digit SIZZLING day here in Texas.:explode:
This morning I performed Week5/Day5 of TUFF Lower Body 2 (focus upper & lower legs, abs) completed in 46 minutes including warm-up & cool down stretching. Increased loads compared to last Friday's performance. I did two different plank styles (elbow plank done twice, push-up pose plank) and able to hold an average of 60 secs now. The goal is 30-60 secs per set. Performed forward, reverse, and steady lunges. I started to feel THAT muscle in the glute area talking back to me before finishing the WO.
DB sets in use: 10, 11.25, 12.5, 13.75, 17.5, 27.5, 28.75, 30, and 32.5.
How's everyone else doing? How's your fitnes/nutrition week ending or beginning?0 -
An actual cool morning, even rained last night! weird weather, a day of cool before mid 90's again. Going to do mini hike before work at 1.0

Pamela you are doing really well. Holding planks that long is wonderful. Good for you to work up to that.
By the way, BC stands for British Columbia, the most western province in Canada & the one I live in.
Maria, that's great fitting in enjoyable exercise!0 -
Thanks, Donna. Those planks are no joke and Toni from around here and in TUFF had been doing them as a 30 day challenge increasing minutes each day! They are an all around core exercise which you already know. Another fitness friend recommended that I do them more so than regular crunches/sit-ups. I'm not a big fan of crunches/situps because they cause the area right below my chest to bulge out. Planks do build a stronger core and helps burn more of the belly fat.
Marla - have a good time on the mini hike today and enjoy the cooler temps as long as it last.0 -
Hey there all. I'm a bit tired and don't have much to report. Today was another dud of a day. Still no beach. DH had to go over to his grandmothers and his aunts--and I can't do the beach with the kids by myself (they are too hard to watch with a 6 year age difference-going different directions and both fearless). To be honest, I'm getting a little tired with the kids lately. Well, for one thing lil girl woke up 5x last night. ugh! She usually only wakes once, but she was having dreams and needed to tell me about them. Anyway, it's tough when there's no family to drop the kids off with ever. It seems we have just enough family to keep us busy (DH always having to go paint something, or move something, or fix something, etc), but literally not anyone who can take the kids for a day. sigh. Well, at least it will be official vacation very soon. DH is going to go ahead into the office Monday for a customer, but then after that, he'll be off til September. Finally! I'm considering August to be an exercise in maintenance really. If I can make it to September at the same size that I'm at, without a major drop in fitness level, I'll be happy.
Weather has improved slightly here. Going to try to get a run tomorrow, if I can get DH to stay with the kids.
TGIF, have a good one!0 -
Hi Sherry - just reading your comment I started to feel how tired it can been almost never getting a break from the two rambunctious children. Being "Mom" really IS the hardest job in the world! It's good that your DH will be on a lengthy vacation soon and then you will have extra hands on deck with the kids. You are doing a great job with "maintenance" with regards to your fitness and body stats.0
