Why Am I Trying to Convince Myself I'm Hungry????

I started keto on 10-23-17 and am finding myself not at all hungry quite often, but most often in the morning... my question is not whether this is normal, but rather if others have felt like they "should" be eating even when they're not hungry just because that is what they have always done. Like I'm sitting at my desk, working away, not at all hungry until I start thinking about the fact that I have not yet eaten anything today, at which point I start to convince myself I am hungry when I am not... just wondering if others felt this as well

My experience is I don't really feel hungry first thing so I also take advantage of this and do IF as well until I feel hungry which is probably about 1.30. If I am hungry I eat earlier.0

Definitely. A lot of people find themselves naturally doing some form of intermittent fasting on keto simply because they aren't hungry as often. There's no need to force 3 meals a day or anything, you'll settle into a new routine soon enough most likely0

Eat when you are hungry, not when you 'should' - remember that habit is not hunger.
You will have days where you have trouble eating the recommended amount of calories and then you will have days where you want to eat everything that is not nailed down... it is normal.0 -
You are not alone. I now do fairly regular fasts of 48 hours about once a week and IF the other days. I enjoy eating. For forty plus years I ate at every opportunity I had. I was fortunate that I did not get heavier than I did. Despite never getting to "obese" level - probably because of my insane activity level - that poor eating pattern led to T2D. Learning when to eat and when not to eat has been a bigger battle for me than the what to eat.
Learning what to eat made sense and to a large degree was pretty easy to do. I only had a relatively small number of non-low carb foods that were among my favorites.
Learning in my head when to eat (only when hungry, not just out of habit, boredom, societal set meal times, etc.) was easy in terms of knowing it in my head. In practice is where the struggle is.
Seeing that getting to goal weight only mildly helped my BG numbers but that effectively managing my meal timing helped much more has helped me/is helping me get this aspect under control.0
