I have been eating low carb for about two weeks now; shouldn't I be in ketosis? I got some test strips today, and they barely read 5! What am I doing wrong? I am opening my diary to friends! Please help!

If the test strips read anything, i.e. show any purple, then you are in ketosis. A darker reader does not mean that you are a 'deeper' level of ketosis... it usually means that your urine is more concentrated thereby containing more ketones.

My Keto strips rarely showed I was in ketosis and usually only showed anything at all late in the afternoon, like 4 pm. Got frustrated and bought the kit that measures ketones in the blood. This shows I am in ketosis pretty much all day. I don’t use it daily, anymore just as a check every few days, but it is definitely a better measuring tool that the ketostyx.

@rparkerslim I asked the exact same question in a private message to a friend on here. She said that you don't always show on the styx and not everyone experiences the keto flu. What I can say is I have lost 15lbs in about 2 weeks. Give her take. I may not quite be in ketosis but what I am doing is working. if you are losing and seeing results I would assume your body is there or at least what your doing is working. some people can tolerate more carbs than others on Keto. Although I have kept mine below 20. I usually stay between 20 and 30 net and that works for me. I have seen some people post on here that stay below 50 and are on keto so do what works for you.
