How to increase my pace

I'm on w8d1 of c25k. I'm doing it on my treadmill. I'm 46 and overweight (down 27.5lbs though!) I'm a really slow runner. I walk at 3.0 and run at 3.5. I'd like to work on my pace once I complete the program. I'm wondering if I should: 1) redo the program with increased speeds or 2) Keep running 30-40 mins and increase my pace a bit every so often. Thanks!

Start the bridge to 10k programme... running further will automatically make you faster over shorter distances.

Keep running. I agree that running farther will make you faster over shorter distances. You could also throw in some speed intervals occasionally too.

Speed work isn't recommended for newbie runners

    Depends on who you ask.
