I am 66 years old and have lost 20 pounds and I am 2 pounds under my goal weight.

Question how much should I increase my calories as I do minimal exercise, usually walk 30 mins a day.
I tried to calculate my BMR and TDEE.
It is saying 1400 calories, how much would you increase your calories to start at.
I was thinking increasing about 50 calories to start

I'm within a few pounds of maintenance, so thought I would join this group and hope to learn good habits for maintenance. As to adding back in calories (if you don't plan to up your exercise), adding 50 sounds like as good a place to start as any...

I've been in maintenance since the end of March so I'm a newby to this world.

50-75 calories a day sounds good. I've done a bit of a mish mash to find my way in maintaining. I upped mine by about 80 calories a day but I also started occasionally eating back half of my exercise calories (while losing, for 9 months I didn't eat back my exercise calories).

Good luck and welcome to the next challenge--maintenance.

It really is trial and error. 50 more calories a day seems reasonable to me, then maybe in a week increase it by another 50 calories a day for another week? Repeat that process until you find your weight happy place.

Good luck! Maintenance is a bit scary, but it's very achievable!
