Juicing

My husband likes to make juices to keep up on his health, normally a mixture of kale or spinach and fruits. Just wondering with WLS if these juices will make me ill considering the sugar from the fruit? Any experience on this out there?

This is all just my personal point of view about juicing. Personally I see no benefit to juicing. I think the claims that juicing promotes health are unsubstantiated/not scientifically supported. If you like the taste that's another story. That aside - in my opinion, for WLS patients, juicing isn't worth the calories, it's way too high in sugar, and doesn't really fit the way we should be eating post surgery. I don't believe there are any added benefits that would specifically help WLS patients. In one of the pre-surgery nutrition classes I attended, someone asked the dietitian about juicing and she pretty much said the same thing. As far as the sugar making you ill, it might or it might not, that will really be a matter of trial and error.3
