We meet here to explore, share, celebrate, and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

    Grade how you LTL on our national overeating holiday. By letter grade (A-F) or on a scale of 1-10 (10=Perfect) rate how you did with:

    Appetizers. B good portion control
    Main dinner/ entrees. A
    Drinks. A
    Desserts. D way too much!
    Exercise D+ a family walk

    Final grade for the day: B

    I had a few M&Ms and the four different desserts my DIL made were good but not great, but I ate them any way.

    I’m happy with my “day off” not counting SPs. Today look forward to a turkey sandwich!

    This was probably my best Thanksgiving not over eating.

    That's how I think the point counting WW world would count.

    But I really want to give myself an A. The pumpkin pie pulled down my grade when I gave it a WW D. But really the P Pie was an A++. It's my favorite thing about Thanksgiving eating. I have never done a WW Thanksgiving without it. Haven't tied myself in knots trying to balance the books. Just kept going.

    Appetizers A+, veggies and shrimp (with chili sauce, instead of cocktail sauce)
    Main dinner/ entrees B Turkey leg, sautéed brussles sprouts, w/bacon, very small amounts of mashed potatoes and stuffing.
    Drinks C- Had 4 Sam's
    Desserts F- 1ea. slices of pumpkin, cheesecake, and chocolate cream pies, w/ 1/2C ice cream
    Exercise What's that?

    Final? maybe a C+?

    Main dinner/ entrees: B (I had a little bit of everything but my plate was far from full.
    Drinks: C (2 glasses sparkling cider)
    Desserts: D (Apple cider milkshake and 1 small slice of pecan pie)
    Exercise: D (Short walk, on feet all day cooking)

    Final: C-

    Not bad really, all things considered. I skipped breakfast and lunch in anticipation of the silliness of dinner/dessert, and I'm taking advantage of the day off today for some extra exercise. Not trying to balance the books per se, but it feels right.

    First of all went to a buffet with Family no other option except not to go.Ate to over full tank couldn't hold anymore. So that being said my grade below.

    Appetizers A didn't have any.
    Main dinner/ entrees F Pime rib, fresh roated Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, roll, 2nd gelling prime rib very small and one moor piece is small turkey.
    Drinks A water
    Desserts F chocolate chessecake/ smal cake squares, pecan pie another kind of cheesecake. All desserts were very small pieces but they filled a plate.
    Exercise C/D Had to walk to hospital visiting a friend who is now in hospice.

    Final grade for the day: F

    Appetizers - none = A
    Main dinner/ entrees = A - I had small portions of the potatoes and corn but heaped my tossed salad on the plate
    Drinks - none = A
    Desserts - had 2 blondes when 1 would have sufficed = B
    Exercise = A - 6.7 mile run with my friend first thing in the morning

    Final grade for the day: A-

    Now ask me about today. Even though I did 10.3 hilly miles on my heavy bike and hiked 9.3 flat miles (rails to trails path), I still out ate my legs. I did bring the salad leftovers to Wisconsin with me and had them when I got to my hotel.

    Grade for Black Friday = C

    appetizers.......= C- . Too many
    main dinner.....=A- 1 teaspoon each potatoes,stuffing, and gravy . lean turkey nice salad steamed green beans small plate.
    desserrt...........= A- tiny tastes and 1/16 slice pumpkin pie
    drinks............=B+ 2 glasses wine
    exercise.........=A- 4 mile walk. 7 mile bike ride.

    overall ...........= B++ I guess .

    Appetizers A - none
    Main dinner/ entrees B - Kept in mind all the tips and tricks. Probably had a skosh more than necessary but way more reasonable than when I was mindless.
    Drinks B - Unmeasured wine, but probably not more than 6 oz.
    Desserts A - About a half-dozen homemade desserts to choose from. Selected small slices of two. Added a little extra real whipped cream to the apple pie. After a small bite of chocolate peanut butter pie, decided it wasn't worth it and passed it off to my sister.
    Exercise C - Did about a two mile walk earlier in the day and almost four the next.

    Final grade for the day: B - Very satisfactory to me. I went to an out-of-town WW meeting the night before the feast. I was mindful and made decent choices throughout the few days I was out of town. That said, I'm up a couple pounds from where I was before I left. I'm pretty confident it will go down a little the next few days.
